Job description

Job Title: ICC Special Inspector
Compensation: $28-32/hour depending on experience and certifications
Location: Meridian, ID
FLSA Exemption: Non-Exempt
Schedule: Full-time, hours may vary
What you'll be doing:
  • Perform structural inspections in accordance with applicable codes and project specifications for concrete, masonry, steel, welding, and fireproofing.
  • Conduct soil density and concrete testing and report findings accurately.
  • Interpret project drawings and specifications to verify compliance with applicable codes and engineer requirements.
  • Clearly communicate inspection results and project requirements to Project Managers, Contractors, Engineers, and Testing Technicians.
  • Prepare detailed, legible inspection reports and maintain project records without ambiguity.
  • Maintain certifications and ensure compliance with industry standards and company policy.
  • Uphold a professional attitude and appearance while interacting with clients and project stakeholders.
  • Turn in timecards and datasheets daily, while keeping company vehicles and equipment in proper working order.
What you have:
  • High School diploma or equivalent; ability to perform written instructions, procedures, and calculations.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in construction inspections, materials testing, or a related field.
  • Strong technical knowledge of construction materials, testing procedures, and inspection methods.
  • Physical ability to perform strenuous tasks including lifting (up to 100 lbs), climbing ladders/scaffolding (up to 100'), twisting, and crouching.
  • Excellent communication skills and professional client-facing presence.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

  • Recommendations from three Project Managers.
  • High level of leadership and technical skills.
  • Strong record of client satisfaction (less than 1% client complaints).
  • Ability to manage multiple inspection assignments independently with accuracy and timeliness.
Preferred Certification(s):
  • ICC Certifications in one or more of the following:
    • Reinforced Concrete
    • Structural Masonry
    • Structural Steel and Welding
    • Spray-Applied Fireproofing
  • ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician - Grade I
  • OSHA 10- or 30-Hour Safety Training
