Job description

Electronics Repair Technician – Entry Level

Starting Pay: $15.00 per hour

Full-Time | Monday–Thursday | 6:00 AM–5:00 PM

Paid Training | Tools Provided | Advancement Opportunities

Do You Like Figuring Out Why Things Don't Work?

If you're the person who can't resist taking something apart to figure out what's wrong—or the one friends and family call when something needs to be fixed—you may be exactly who we're looking for.

Commercial Electronics, Inc. (CEI) is looking for an Electronics Repair Technician with a genuine interest in troubleshooting, repairing, and figuring out how things work.

Formal electronics training or previous professional electronics repair experience is not required.

We're looking for people with natural troubleshooting and mechanical aptitude who enjoy solving problems and fixing things. Hobby electronics, computer repair, gaming systems, audio equipment, automotive repair, appliance repair, DIY projects, or general handyman experience can all be valuable.

We'll teach you the electronics repair skills and procedures you need to succeed.

What You'll Do

As an Electronics Repair Technician, you will repair electronic equipment using established procedures, computer-based work instructions, and guidance from experienced technicians.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Troubleshoot and repair electronic equipment.
  • Follow detailed computer-based repair instructions and electronic work orders.
  • Identify and replace defective electronic components.
  • Use hand tools and electronic repair equipment.
  • Perform soldering and component-level repairs as training is provided.
  • Test equipment to verify completed repairs.
  • Accurately document repairs using our computer-based repair system.
  • Meet established quality and productivity standards.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Learn new repair techniques and progressively take on more complex repairs.

What We're Looking For

We're more interested in how you think than what's on your résumé.

The ideal candidate:

  • Has a genuine interest in electronics and figuring out how things work.
  • Enjoys troubleshooting problems rather than simply replacing parts.
  • Is mechanically inclined and comfortable using hand tools.
  • Has experience repairing, building, modifying, or troubleshooting things as a hobby or at home.
  • May have experience with computers, gaming systems, audio equipment, appliances, automotive equipment, radios, or other electronics.
  • Can follow detailed written and computer-based instructions.
  • Has basic computer skills.
  • Pays close attention to detail.
  • Takes pride in doing quality work.
  • Is willing to learn and accept coaching.
  • Can work independently after training.
  • Has a valid driver's license.
  • Is legally authorized to work in the United States.

Soldering Experience Is a Plus — Not a Requirement

You do not need to be an experienced electronics technician to apply.

If you have ever:

  • Fixed a computer instead of replacing it.
  • Taken apart an electronic device to figure out what failed.
  • Repaired equipment around the house.
  • Built or modified computers.
  • Worked on radios, audio equipment, gaming systems, or other electronics.
  • Repaired appliances, automotive equipment, or machinery.
  • Built, modified, or repaired things as a hobby.
  • Been the person everyone calls when something breaks.

We want to talk to you.

You don't have to know everything about electronics when you walk through our door. You do need to be curious, mechanically inclined, willing to learn, and interested in solving problems.

Training & Advancement

CEI provides hands-on training and instruction to develop your electronics repair skills.

As your skills, quality, productivity, and knowledge increase, opportunities are available to take on more complex repairs and advance within the organization.

This is an opportunity to learn a specialized trade while getting paid to do it.
