About Us

Alaska Petroleum Distributing (APD) has served the North Pole and surrounding areas since 1981. With strong local brand recognition and family-owned company culture, APD has a balanced commercial and retail customer portfolio, delivering heating oil, gasoline, and diesel fuels. It is the largest fuel distributor in the interior. Recognizing its complementary services, including linehaul and truck maintenance capabilities, APD joined the NorthStar family of companies in 2019. 

APD prioritizes environmental safety, crafting and constructing the first state-approved, double-walled fuel storage tanks. Alaska Petroleum has over 100 tanks of various sizes, which is an offered service to contractors throughout the state. In addition, APD handles oil spill contingency products, including pads and barrels. 

Job Summary:

This position performs the manual laborer tasks typically not performed by other trades or crafts and are needed to maintain, improve, or construct various facilities/areas.

Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Performs a variety of preventative or ongoing maintenance duties required by physical structures, commercial or industrial facilities, or associated areas.
  • Cleans work area, tools, and equipment.
  • Assists in the repair, maintenance, or installation of electrical or mechanical equipment.
  • Assists with materials, tools, and supplies.
  • Disassemble, assemble, or install equipment or furnishings.
  • Assist in the clearing of clogged drains, and replacement of plumbing fixtures.
  • Paint areas or equipment to prevent corrosion.
  • Perform minor repair or replacement of interior walls, ceilings, trim of buildings, etc.
  • Wash vehicles/equipment.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
Education and Experience: 
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • At least one year of varied construction-related experience.
