Job description

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Civil Concrete Foreman to lead commercial and civil concrete construction crews on a variety of site development, infrastructure, roadway, municipal, and public works projects.
This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for managing daily field operations, coordinating Client and equipment, maintaining production schedules, ensuring quality workmanship, and enforcing safety standards. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in flatwork construction, crew supervision, and concrete operations from layout through final completion .
Key Responsibilities
Crew Leadership & Field Operations

  • Lead and supervise concrete crews on commercial and civil construction projects.
  • Plan and coordinate daily work activities to meet production goals and project milestones.
  • Assign work responsibilities and oversee crew performance.
  • Train, mentor, and develop crew members while promoting accountability and teamwork.
  • Serve as the primary field leader and point of coordination with project management.

Concrete Construction Management

  • Oversee all phases of civil and commercial concrete construction.
  • Supervise installation and finishing of:
    • Curb & Gutter
    • Sidewalks
    • ADA Ramps
    • Valley Gutters
    • Driveways
    • Approaches
    • Flatwork
    • Site Concrete Improvements
  • Ensure proper forming, reinforcement placement, dowels, embeds, expansion joints, and finishing techniques.
  • Monitor concrete placement, slump, curing, and finishing operations to ensure quality standards are met.

Layout & Grade Verification

  • Read and interpret civil plans, grading plans, specifications, and construction details.
  • Verify layout, grades, elevations, and forms before concrete placement.
  • Work with survey stakes, laser levels, and grade control systems.
  • Ensure all work complies with project plans and engineering requirements.

Slip-Form & Curb Machine Operations

  • Manage and coordinate curb machine (curb gunner/slip-form) operations.
  • Direct supporting crews to maximize efficiency and production.
  • Ensure accuracy, quality, and production targets are achieved.

Coordination & Communication

  • Coordinate daily activities with:
    • Superintendents
    • Project Managers
    • Survey Crews
    • Inspectors
    • Subcontractors
  • Schedule Client, contractors, equipment, and material deliveries.
  • Resolve field issues quickly while maintaining schedule and quality expectations.

Safety & Quality Control

  • Conduct daily safety meetings and enforce OSHA and company safety policies.
  • Maintain production reports, daily logs, inspection reports, and quality documentation.
  • Ensure job sites remain clean, organized, and safe.
  • Monitor workmanship quality and minimize punch-list items.

Required Qualifications
Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Civil Concrete Foreman or Lead Foreman.
  • Minimum 8 years of hands-on civil concrete construction experience.
  • Proven experience supervising and managing field crews.
  • Strong background in civil and commercial concrete construction.

Technical Knowledge

  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Knowledge of:
    • Concrete placement
    • Finishing methods
    • Curing procedures
    • Quality control processes
  • Experience working with:
    • Grades
    • Elevations
    • Survey stakes
    • Laser levels

Leadership Skills

  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational abilities.

Other Requirements

  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
