Turf Design's Computational Designer is responsible for assisting the development, verification, and execution of computational tools for the design-to-fabrication process and assisting the Computational Design Team with organizational goals.

What will you do?
  • Assist the Computational Design Team on new software development and maintenance.
  • Translate design intent into computational logic that supports fabrication and documentation.
  • Assist with the training and implementation of new tools and processes.
  • Improve and update existing design software and parametric tools as new variables and limitations are encountered.
  • Verify new and existing tools for custom design projects, including review of machining steps.
  • Collaborate with end-users to optimize UI/UX workflows and address any considerations that might impact product design and manufacturing.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Computational Design, Industrial Design, or related field.
  • 2-3 years' experience in Computational design or fabrication environment ideally involving parametric modeling, scripting/programming, CAD/CAM software, digital fabrication workflows or related field.
  • Proficiency in Python, Grasshopper, and Rhino3D
