SUPPORT SERVICES OF VIRGINIA (SSVA)

Lynchburg & Surrounding Counties
Earn approximately $48,000-$124,000 per year while making a meaningful difference from home.
Support Services of Virginia (SSVA) is seeking compassionate individuals, couples, and families throughout Lynchburg, Amherst, Bedford, Campbell County, Appomattox, Forest, Madison Heights, Rustburg, Altavista, Farmville, Buckingham County, Charlotte County, and surrounding communities to become Sponsored Residential Providers.
This opportunity allows providers to earn ongoing income while providing a safe, supportive home for an adult with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Providers help someone build independence, participate in community life, and enjoy the stability of a family-style home.
Compensation
Sponsored Residential Providers can earn approximately $48,000-$124,000 annually, depending on the support needs of the individual(s) served and program funding levels. Payments are made on a biweekly basis.
What Providers Do
  • Provide a safe, stable, and welcoming home
  • Help an adult with intellectual and developmental disabilities build independence

  • Partner with SSVA to support a strong match based on compatibility, lifestyle, and interests

Qualifications
Applicants must:
  • Be 21 years of age or older
  • Have a high school diploma or GED
  • Be active within the local community
  • Have at least six months of personal or professional experience supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities
  • Be comfortable using technology and electronic documentation systems
  • Demonstrate effective written communication skills
