Job description

Seeking a Childcare Teacher to join an newly established center based daycare! This individual will plan and present age appropriate activities for children on a daily basis.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in instruction of infant to preschool aged children in activities designed to promote intellectual and creative growth
  • Create a fun, safe, and healthy learning environment following all KDHE and partner requirements
  • Provide general care for children such as feeding, diapering, potty training, and comfort for napping
  • Follow schedules and routines to ensure adequate physical activity, rest, and playtime
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with students and parents
  • Communicate with parents on students' growth and progress
  • Assist in creating lesson plans that follow Creative Curriculum
  • Assist in tracking development of child's growth and progress in learning
  • Maintain positive relationships with various resource agencies

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in childcare, teaching, medical, or other related fields preferred
  • Knowledge of KDHE licensing, CACFP food program, curriculum based methods, and positive discipline methods preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must pass KBI background check required by KDHE licensing, previous fingerprinted KBI background check preferred
  • Must complete fingerprinted background check and training prior to engaging in classroom responsibilities
