Job description

AutoCAD Technician

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Effectively organize and manage multiple projects simultaneously from conceptual phases through final close-out.

· Proficient in AutoCAD and VISIO programs. Handle confidential information

· Use independent and discretionary judgment.

· Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

· Attend progress meetings with Clients and/or contractors.

· Proficiency with industry practices, processes and standards

· Identifying, tracking, managing and resolving project issues.

· Efficiently managing the work flow to successfully achieve assigned goals.

· Manage all construction activities and coordinate work and schedules with project team and subcontractors

· Review engineering and architectural drawings and specifications to monitor progress and ensure compliance with plans and schedules

· Abide by all federal government rules and regulations while on federal government premises.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate should meet the following qualifications:

· Min. 1-3 years of experience, preferably in Federal Government sector.

· A proven track record of successful AutoCAD/ Space planning responsibilities.

· Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions regarding the project.

· Documented experience assisting and/or leading the project activities associated with the construction, building infrastructure, tenant fit-outs, relocations, or space reconfigurations and buildouts of government owned/leased space.

· Capacity to plan, schedule and execute large-size projects; and extensive experience in interpreting and applying project management theories and techniques in the field of high-rise building/multi-floor projects.

· Excellent communication skills; both verbal and written.

· Expert knowledge and ability to read space plans and construction documents.

· Knowledge of furniture requirements and specifications.

· Ability to coordinate furniture layouts with space plans, and construction drawings.

· Familiarity with government atmosphere/culture relative to Governmental Contracting.

Education & Security Requirements:

· You must hold a current government security clearance or be able to obtain a clearance as a prerequisite for employment.


Preferred but not required:

· CAPM, PMP, CCM, and/or CPC certification preferred.

· Professionally accredited Architects or Engineers (AIA, PE) with previous project management or construction administration experience are also desired.

· Experience with drafting and AutoCAD, or similar software.

· Knowledge of building codes, documents & procedures.

· OSHA requirements and other legal restrictions.
