Seeking a high-caliber MDM Product Owner to drive the enterprise vision, roadmap, and execution of the Stibo STEP platform. This role involves designing scalable workflows, defining business rules, and bridging complex data needs between business stakeholders and engineering teams. As the champion for trusted data, the successful candidate will manage data domains, hierarchies, and enterprise integration patterns.

Key ResponsibilitiesProduct Ownership & Strategy
  • Own the MDM product vision, roadmap, backlog, and prioritization in partnership with business stakeholders.
  • Translate business needs into clear requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and product decisions.
  • Lead backlog refinement, sprint planning, demos, release reviews, and prioritization discussions.
Stakeholder Engagement
  • Serve as the primary liaison between business teams, MDM, QE, engineering, and downstream system owners.
  • Facilitate requirement-gathering, design discussions, issue triage, and prioritization sessions.
  • Communicate product decisions, release impacts, open questions, and risks to both technical and business audiences.
Data Governance & Quality
  • Define data standards, validation rules, business rules, stewardship workflows, and Stibo MDM product requirements.
  • Partner with business and governance teams to resolve data ownership, definition, and rule gaps.
  • Analyze and profile data to identify quality issues, inconsistencies, root causes, and product improvement opportunities.
  • Partner with MDM developers and data engineers to design, validate, refine, and support platform behavior.
Integration Design
  • Define integration requirements between MDM and upstream/downstream enterprise systems.
  • Partner with engineering teams on source-to-target mappings, data contracts, validation logic, transformation expectations, and error handling.
  • Support triage of integration errors, data mismatches, validation failures, and downstream synchronization issues.
Required Qualifications & Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Data Management, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • 7+ years of experience across product ownership, MDM, data management, business analysis, governance, or enterprise systems delivery.
  • Experience managing product backlogs, writing user stories, defining acceptance criteria, and delivering in Agile environments.
  • Strong understanding of MDM concepts, including data domains, hierarchies, governance, stewardship, workflows, and data quality.
  • Demonstrated ability to make product decisions and align cross-functional teams.
  • Strong communication skills with both technical and business stakeholders.
  • Working knowledge of SQL and dataset analysis for profiling, validation, troubleshooting, and requirements clarification.
  • Understanding of enterprise integration patterns, including API, batch, and file-based integrations.
  • Ability to define and interpret integration requirements, mappings, validation rules, error scenarios, downstream impacts, and interface documentation.
Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills
  • Stibo MDM (STEP) experience.
  • Exposure to Snowflake, dbt, MuleSoft, SFTP/Axway, AWS Glue, S3, or other cloud/integration platforms.
  • Experience with data governance tools such as Atlan.
  • Experience with Jira, Agile delivery, QE coordination, UAT sign-off, and release management.
Success Outcomes
  • Improved usability, adoption, and operational efficiency of MDM workflows.
  • Improved data quality, completeness, consistency, and trust.
  • Clear, actionable backlog aligned to business priorities.
  • Reduced recurring integration issues, data mismatches, and downstream synchronization problems.
