About the role.
McCain Foods is seeking a Sorter Inspector to join our team in Burley, Idaho. This role plays a critical part in maintaining product quality by inspecting, trimming, and sorting potato products on the production line. The position operates on a 12-hour day shift and requires flexibility to rotate between processing and packaging areas to support efficient operations and consistent quality standards.

What you'll be doing.

• Inspect potatoes and potato products on conveyor lines to ensure product quality
• Remove defective items that do not meet specifications for size, shape, color, or uniformity
• Trim defects from potatoes using a knife as needed
• Sort defective products to waste streams or alternate processing lines
• Identify and remove foreign materials from the inspection belt
• Notify supervisors of quality concerns or foreign material findings
• Rotate between processing and packaging positions as required
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment while following all safety protocols

What you'll need to be successful.

• Ability to read, write, and comprehend simple instructions and basic communications
• Strong attention to detail and ability to visually identify product defects
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions with consistency
• Basic problem-solving skills and sound judgment
• Ability to communicate effectively with team members and supervisors
• Willingness and ability to work a 12-hour shift and rotate across production areas

About the team.

You will be part of the Burley manufacturing team, working closely with production and packaging operators to ensure high product quality standards. The team collaborates across shifts and functions to maintain efficiency, safety, and continuous improvement in plant operations.

Compensation Package: - Starting at 18.65 USD hourly + Bonus eligibility + Hourly Pay Differential for applicable shifts
