Job description

Location: Henry Ford Providence Novi

Department: Sleep Medicine

Shift: Part Time (30 hours per week); Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday Night Shifts. All Shifts from 8:30pm to 6:30am 

GENERAL SUMMARY

  • Perform basic and advanced diagnostic sleep studies. 
  • Prepare patient and equipment for ordered testing. Interview patient to determine sleep disorder issues and to explain testing procedures. 
  • Perform and document testing. Monitor patient throughout testing and intervene as necessary to resolve patient needs or equipment issues. 
  • Collect, analyze and integrate patient information to identify and meet patient-specific needs; score, interpret and report result of sleep studies. 
  • Prepare, calibrate, repair and maintain equipment required for testing. Determine and report needed repairs/replacements.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

CERTIFICATION/LICENCES REQUIRED

  • BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. 

One or more of the following required:

  • Cert Polysomnographic Tech credentialed from the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. -
  • Reg Polysomnographic Technologist credentialed from the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
