Job description

The Neil Jones Food Company is an industry leader, processing superior quality fresh-packed, vine-ripened California tomatoes and Pacific Northwest fruit. Headquartered in Vancouver, Washington, NJFC has been providing our nationโ€™s discerning foodservice, retail, industrial and institutional customers with the finest quality canned and pouched products for over 50 years. NJFC operates three production facilities: Northwest Packing in Vancouver, WA.; San Benito Foods, in Hollister, CA; and Toma-Tek in Firebaugh, CA.

We are looking for seasonal Sanitation-Clean Up to be responsible for keeping the production area clean and in an orderly condition at our Northwest Packing plant in Vancouver, WA. This is a seasonal position supporting our fresh pack season, typically August โ€“ November.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Keeps the work area clean of product spills and/or debris by using water hoses, pressure hoses, shovels or small bins to wash or carry away product or debris.
  • Pulls or moves water hoses across floors and may lift and remove bins of product/debris up to 35 lbs.
  • May use diluted chemicals from a sprayer or pressure hose to clean equipment; but generally, uses water only from a pressure hose or general hose.
  • Works with chemicals if working weekend shifts to sanitize lines.
  • Promote Food Safety Culture as a priority at all times in all situations.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred, not required; or any equivalent combination of training, experience and education that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position.
  • 1+ year of experience in a warehouse environment preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., stand, walk and climb stairs, and the ability to reach and use hands/wrists/arms repetitively.
  • Able to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment, e.g. bump cap, ear protection, hair net.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and work extended schedule, weekends, and any shift assigned during the fresh pack season, typically August to early November.
