Fresh Logistics information

What is fresh logistics?

Fresh logistics refers to the management and transportation of perishable goods, such as fruits, vegetables, dairy, meat, and seafood, that require temperature-controlled environments to maintain their quality and freshness. This field covers all processes from storage, packaging, and handling to timely delivery, ensuring products remain safe for consumption. Companies specializing in fresh logistics use refrigerated vehicles, specialized packaging, and real-time tracking to minimize spoilage and meet strict regulatory standards.

What are some common challenges faced in a fresh logistics role, and how can they be managed effectively?

Fresh Logistics professionals often encounter challenges such as maintaining product freshness during transport, adhering to strict temperature control standards, and meeting tight delivery schedules. Managing these requires close coordination with suppliers, drivers, and warehouse staff, as well as proficiency with cold chain technology and real-time tracking tools. Being proactive about route planning, contingency protocols, and regulatory compliance helps ensure products arrive in optimal condition and builds trust with clients and partners.

What is the easiest job in logistics?

Entry-level roles such as warehouse associates or package handlers are often considered the easiest jobs in logistics, as they typically require minimal experience and involve straightforward tasks like sorting, packing, and shipping. These positions usually have simple training processes and may involve shift work in a warehouse environment.

Is fresh logistics a good place to work?

Fresh Logistics offers entry-level logistics positions that typically involve warehouse work, shipping, and inventory management. The work environment can be fast-paced and may require physical effort, with opportunities for advancement and skill development in supply chain operations.

Job description

Founded by Dr. Eric Schmidt, the Special Competitive Studies Project (SCSP) is a 501(c)3 private operating foundation tasked with making recommendations to strengthen America's long-term global competitiveness for a future where artificial intelligence (AI) and other emerging technologies reshape our global strategic environment. The project is organized into three directorates - Global Partnerships, Technology Leadership, and AI Adoption. • Event Communications: Draft and edit external communications, including attendee invitations, event newsletters, promotional copy, social media content, and briefi ng materials for speakers and moderators.
  • Project Coordination: Use project management platforms (like Airtable and Google Suite) to track speaker logistics, programming details, and day-of show agendas.
  • On-Site Execution: Provide hands-on, on-site support during the Expo, assisting with stage management, speaker coordination, and attendee experience.

Qualifications
  • Education: All undergraduate or graduate majors and concentrations are encouraged to apply.
  • Technical Savvy: High proficiency in Google Suite, data organization, and project management software. Proficiency in leveraging and prompting Large Language Models (LLMs).
  • Communication: Exceptional professional writing and communication skills for external partner engagement.
  • In-Person Requirement: Must be able to work full-time in-person at our Arlington office January through June of 2027.

Desired Skills
  • Experience working in a fast-paced office environment with strict deadlines.
  • Collaborative mindset and willingness to support the team in varied, fluctuating capacities.
  • Operate as a self-starter, bringing fresh ideas to current processes.
  • Interest in the intersection of American competitiveness and emerging technology.

$22 - $26 a year
This is a non-exempt position.
