UnityPoint Health is seeking 2026 new graduate nurses with anticipated graduation dates in May, August, or December 2026 to join our RN Residency Program. This 12-month structured program is designed to support your transition into professional nursing practice while building strong clinical, critical thinking, and leadership skills.
Position Overview
The RN Residency Program provides new graduate nurses with the training, education, and support needed to successfully transition into a clinical role. Residents will participate in structured learning experiences, hands-on training, and ongoing professional development while working alongside experienced healthcare teams.

Responsibilities
  • Provides comprehensive pre-op and post-op care for patient of all ages undergoing surgical procedures.
  • Prepares patients for surgery, conducts assessments, and provides necessary education.
  • Collaborate with the surgical team and other healthcare professionals to ensure smooth transitions in patient care from pre-op to post-op and discharge, coordinating follow-up appointments and any necessary home care services.
Qualifications
Education:
  • Diploma from an RN program.
License(s)/Certification(s):
  • Current licensure in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in primary state.
    • Must apply within 90 days for licensure in secondary state.
  • Must possess and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
