The French's Food Company, a subsidiary of McCormick & Company, Inc. and a global leader in flavor is seeking a full-time Warehouse Technician for the plant located in Springfield, MO. This person will report to the Warehouse Manager.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Through the direction of the Warehouse Team Manager, the Warehouse Technician is responsible for supporting the plant and department goals, including process reliability, safety, quality, and service. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

·         Actively participate in Continuous Improvement activities to identify process issues and improvement opportunities

·         Understand production schedule, customer orders, open orders report, shipping orders, or material purchase schedules to determine items to be moved, received, gathered, or distributed

·         Convey materials and items from storage, receiving, or production areas to storage, production, or other designated areas

·         Assemble customer orders from stock and stages.  Check orders to be shipped against bill of lading and loads pallets onto truck

·         Use computer to analyze and record amounts of materials or items received or distributed

·         Weigh or count items within the plant to ensure accuracy of records

·         Maintain work and storage areas in clean and orderly fashion

·         Daily communication with all team members and management through the use of shift meetings, email, and other written and verbal methods

·         Actively promote safety and identify unsafe actions and conditions through the use of principle-based safety approach

·         Other duties as assigned

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

·         High school diploma or equivalent

·         Minimum one year warehouse experience in a manufacturing environment

·         Ability to apply basic math skills and must be able to read and interpret documents

·         Demonstrated ability to communicate and build relationships in a diverse, team-based environment

·         Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and meet strict deadlines

·         Demonstrated experience working effectively and accurately in a high volume, fast paced environment

·         Demonstrated ability to use logical thinking and independent judgment to solve problems

·         Ability to work in an environment that is subject to temperature extremes and dusty

·         This position will require flexibility with shift and work day assignments to support business need requirements and reduce overtime. (For example, one potential work schedule might be Sunday-Thursday).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

·         Demonstrated ability to read, navigate and interpret multiple computerized data collection, data entry and inventory control systems strongly preferred.

·         Knowledge of SAP, Excel, Access.
