Job description

Fyda Freightliner Columbus is an Elite Support Certified dealer of new Freightliner trucks and Detroit Diesel vocational severe-service vehicles, and carries a large inventory of all-makes of pre-owned trucks. Fyda Freightliner Columbus is the largest retailer of new and used Expediters in the United States. Serving the Columbus transportation industry hub since 1985, we operate as a full-service commercial truck dealership and body shop.


Technician Responsibilities:

  • Completes service and repair assignments efficiently, safely, and correctly to pass quality inspections.
  • Comply with company safety policies and procedures.
  • Communicate directly with shop foreman regarding the status of the repair work.
  • Continuously learn new technical information and techniques.
  • Examines damaged vehicle and efficiently plans repair process.
  • Works and communicates with others on vehicle repair status.
  • Performs quality repairs while keeping on-time status in mind.
  • Participates in all required safety meetings.
  • Files, grinds, and sands repaired surfaces, using air tools and hand tools.
  • Directs the work of an apprentice in the performance of tasks when needed, i.e., unusual problems or questions and explains procedures to assistant.

Technician Qualifications:

  • Team oriented, flexible, and focused on maintaining a high level of customer service.
  • Working knowledge of shop equipment.
  • Basic Heavy and Medium Duty Truck knowledge.
  • Maintains sufficient personally owned tools.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Detail oriented and quality driven.
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check, physical exam, and drug screen.
