Job description

Stoops Freightliner - Western Star is looking for an On-site Diesel Technician at one of our customer locations, AD Transport.
The primary function of an On-site Diesel Tech is to diagnose and complete repairs on heavy and medium duty trucks at customer sites. Individual will perform a variety of tasks on heavy-duty trucks. Those tasks include Inspection, diagnosis, maintenance, installation and repair of components, engines, systems related to the heavy duty and medium duty vehicles.
Essential Functions:
  • Complete complex diagnosis and repairs on engines and chassis products in the field
  • Develop rich customer relations and ensure prompt and efficient attention to customer demands
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and examine parts for defects and excessive wear, repair engine/driveline/ABS related issues utilizing sound mechanical knowledge and computer based diagnostic programs
  • Multitask and manage multiple repairs and customer communications
  • Perform proper documentation for customer and OEM invoicing along with policies set forth by supervisor

Minimum Qualifications:
  • 5 years or more Previous experience as a technician
  • Ability to display knowledge of diesel engines
  • Ability to display knowledge of repair procedures without supervision
  • Must be flexible to work with customer schedules
  • Willing to complete both online and offsite training to obtain certifications
  • Must be a self-motivator
  • Knowledge of Insite, DL8, Wabco, and Roadranger preferred
  • CDL preferred. D.O.T. physical at a minimum
