About us
Over the past five years, CtrlChain has built a powerful and trusted ecosystem to simplify and modernize the transport and logistics sector. Now, we're making this ecosystem fully available to our customers, both shippers and carriers.
Our system brings digital transformation to an industry long reliant on outdated processes, offering smart tools that enhance visibility, streamline compliance, and optimize operations. The result? A more efficient, transparent, and effortless way of working for everyone involved!
As we continue expanding our brokerage operations in North America, our Sales team plays a critical role in building strong shipper relationships, growing freight volume, and strengthening CtrlChain's position in the U.S. market.
The role
As a Freight Brokerage Sales Representative, you are responsible for building and growing a profitable book of business through proactive prospecting, shipper acquisition, and carrier coordination.
You will own the full brokerage sales cycle - from outbound outreach and qualification to rate negotiation, freight execution support, and account development. You will work closely with Operations and Customer Success to ensure reliable service while consistently driving revenue and margin growth.
What you'll do
Build and grow a book of business
  • Proactively identify and acquire new shipper customers through cold calling, email outreach, LinkedIn networking, and industry research
  • Build and maintain a healthy pipeline of qualified opportunities
  • Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting through first shipment and ongoing account growth
  • Develop long-term customer relationships and expand wallet share within existing accounts

Drive revenue and margin growth
  • Negotiate competitive buy and sell rates with carriers and shippers
  • Manage freight opportunities with strong commercial awareness and margin discipline
  • Support monthly revenue, load volume, and margin targets through consistent sales activity
  • Stay informed on market conditions, lane pricing, and competitor activity

Source carrier capacity and support freight execution
  • Develop and maintain reliable carrier relationships across active lanes
  • Source carrier capacity proactively to support customer freight needs
  • Work closely with Operations and Customer Success to ensure smooth shipment execution and service quality
  • Help resolve freight issues quickly and professionally when needed

Maintain pipeline discipline and market visibility
  • Keep CRM activity, pipeline stages, and opportunity tracking accurate and up to date
  • Follow up consistently on open opportunities and keep deals moving forward
  • Provide commercial feedback and market intelligence to support pricing and growth strategies
  • Represent CtrlChain professionally in all shipper and carrier interactions

Requirements
Who You Are

You will thrive in this role if you:

  • Are comfortable making 50+ outbound calls per day consistently
  • Have experience negotiating freight rates in spot or contract freight environments
  • Understand U.S. freight markets, lane pricing, and carrier dynamics
  • Have experience using CRM systems such as HubSpot or Salesforce
  • Are highly organized, self-directed, and proactive
  • Build trust quickly with both shippers and carriers
  • Are motivated by uncapped commission tied to revenue growth and gross margin performance
