Job description

The primary role of this position is to manage and coordinate end-to-end order fulfillment while supporting shipping and warehouse operations. This individual is responsible for organizing, prioritizing, and tracking all customer orders through completion, ensuring efficient product movement through the production facility based on customer demand and delivery requirements.
This role serves as a key liaison between planning, production, and shipping teams to ensure alignment on scheduling, execution, and delivery timelines. It requires strong cross-functional coordination to streamline processes and maintain on-time, accurate order fulfillment.
In addition to expediting responsibilities, this position is responsible for preparing shipping documentation, quoting freight, managing hazardous material shipping requirements, and coordinating with carriers for both domestic and international shipments.
Essential Job Functions:


Own and coordinate all domestic and international shipments from order release through final delivery, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with all customer requirements.
Perform quality checks to verify products are properly packaged, labeled, and prepared for shipment in accordance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
Ensure full compliance with all applicable shipping regulations, including DOT, IATA, and IMDG requirements for hazardous materials. Verifying all hazardous shipments are correctly classified, labeled, documented, and handled
Review and validate all shipping documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness prior to release, including Bills of Lading, export documentation, and hazardous material paperwork.
Verify outbound freight is loaded correctly, secured properly, and matches all shipping documentation before departure.
Maintain proper flow of inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring carriers are loaded and unloaded within designated timeframes; escalate delays to management as needed.
Monitor open receipts and customer orders daily; proactively communicate risks, delays, or issues and drive resolution with appropriate teams.
Work cross-functionally with production, planning, and warehouse teams to prioritize orders and materials needed for shipment, ensuring customer delivery commitments are met.
Support order fulfillment planning by helping determine production and shipping priorities based on customer demand, order status, and delivery requirements.
Ensure all outbound orders are shipped with complete and accurate paperwork; verify all inbound and outbound documentation is properly completed prior to processing.
Interface directly with carriers, freight providers, and vendors; maintain professional communication, provide timely responses, and communicate estimated shipment readiness and pickup times.
Escalate carrier issues or service concerns to management promptly to ensure resolution.
Process and update shipment status and order completion accurately within system(s).
Operate forklifts and material handling equipment safely following training and certification requirements.
Maintain warehouse organization, cleanliness, and safety standards to support efficient operations.
Manage shipping and warehouse supplies to ensure operational continuity.
Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance safety, accuracy, productivity, and overall department performance.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Ability to learn and effectively use WMS, order fulfilment software and freight quoting software.
Ability to identify continuous improvements opportunities and partner with leadership and other Shipping associates to implement.
Ability to gain knowledge of raw materials, finished goods and packaging supplies.
Ability to complete Hazmat shipping training and successfully pass Hazmat certification.
Strong organizational and attention to detail skills and be self-motivated.
Ability to prioritize and work independently and know when to seek assistance for complex tasks.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
