Job Summary
Freight/Dock employees play a vital role in supporting daily operations. Responsibilities include the pickup and delivery of mail, transfer of mail and freight to and from aircraft, and assisting with loading and unloading. The role also involves fueling, handling, cleaning, and maintaining aircraft, as well as maintaining freight equipment and ensuring all work areas remain clean and organized. Additional duties may be assigned as needed to support safe and efficient operations.

Essential Job Functions
  • Mail & Freight Handling
    • Pick up mail from the Post Office.
    • Sort and deliver mail to the proper aircraft as determined by dispatch.
    • Accept freight and ensure proper storage.
    • Identify and properly handle hazardous materials.
    • Keep freight carts on the dock when aircraft return to expedite turnaround.
  • Aircraft Operations Support
    • Assist with aircraft launching, docking, turning out, and ramping.
    • Load and unload aircraft efficiently.
    • Assist in fueling aircraft and pumping floats.
    • Clean aircraft interiors and exteriors as needed.
    • Ensure aircraft are properly secured when docked.
  • Facilities & Equipment Maintenance
    • Perform minor repairs to dock, carts, and mail van as needed or instructed.
    • Maintain docks, ramps, ropes, and freight equipment in safe condition.
    • Fuel, secure, and properly store mail van and equipment at end of shift.
    • Keep freight room, docks, vehicles, and building areas clean and organized.
    • Empty trash daily and maintain grounds in a clean, professional condition.
  • Communication & Safety
    • Maintain radio contact with dispatch at all times.
    • Report hazards or safety concerns immediately to a supervisor.
    • Follow company safety standards and assist with assigned projects during delays or downtime.
  • Teamwork & Initiative
    • Support pilots and other team members as needed.
    • Take initiative to recognize and complete tasks beyond those specifically assigned.
    • Assist Directors (Operations, Maintenance, or Chief Pilot) with projects when available.

Minimum Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a valid DOT medical certificate
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • No criminal convictions
  • Must be at least 21 years of age

Physical & Professional Abilities
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks on a daily basis
  • Able to lift and move heavy items, sometimes over 50 pounds, safely
  • Comfortable working outdoors in inclement weather conditions
  • Maintain a clean, neat, and professional appearance
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills
  • Dependable and punctual
