Job description

Penske Logistics is looking for shipping and receiving clerks to become part of an excellent team. This is a great opportunity for individuals who are safety conscious and have a pleasant, outgoing attitude who want to excel in a warehouse environment. Responsible for shipping and receiving procedures. Responsible for ensuring that the paperwork for all shipments leaving the distribution center is complete and accurate. You will check drivers in and out throughout day, handle bills of lading (BOL’s), and utilize various systems and frequently interact with warehouse personnel and carriers.

Job Responsibilities:

• Supply reordering

• Researching store claims

• Processing Inbound and Outbound shipments in the warehouse

• Control the flow of work to meet departure and receiving times

• Resolve discrepancies

• Interact with warehouse associates and trouble shoot issues

• Assist with daily and weekly reports

• Jointly work with Supervisors and Management to meet warehouse metrics

• Prioritize workload and have flexibility to adjust based on position requirements

• Other projects and tasks assigned by Supervisor

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred

• 1 year of shipping/receiving experience preferred

• 1 year of customer service experience required

• Strong computer and mathematical skills required

• Frequent interaction with warehouse workers with daily tasks, good interpersonal skills required

• Multi-tasking required, must be able to work in a fast-paced environment

• Ability to maintain confidentiality is essential

• Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job

• Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening.

The associate is frequently required to use hands to touch, handle, and feel, and to reach with hands and arms. The associate must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50lbs/23kg and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100lbs/45kg.
