What is a freezer selector?

Freezer Selectors are warehouse workers responsible for selecting and gathering products from freezer storage areas based on orders. They operate in extremely cold environments, often using equipment like pallet jacks or forklifts to move goods. Their job involves ensuring accuracy and speed while following safety protocols to handle frozen products. Freezer Selectors play a critical role in the supply chain for grocery stores, food distributors, and other businesses that require frozen goods.

What skills and qualifications are needed to be a freezer selector?

To thrive as a Freezer Selector, you need physical stamina, attention to detail, and experience with warehouse operations, often supported by a high school diploma or equivalent. Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), pallet jacks, and handheld scanners is typically required. Dependability, teamwork, and the ability to work efficiently in cold environments are crucial soft skills for success. These skills ensure accurate order fulfillment, safety, and productivity in demanding freezer warehouse settings.

What challenges do freezer selectors face and how can they be managed?
