Job Summary and Purpose:

The Warehouse & Distribution Manager oversees all warehouse activities for Ceva Animal Health Lenexa GMSQ campus.  Activities include receiving materials or goods, labeling and packaging of semi-finished goods, order fulfillment and shipping, maintaining inventory levels and recording warehouse information.  The warehouse manager will provide training, assignments and scheduling, coaching, counseling and disciplining employees; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising job contributions; and adhering to policies and procedures internally and with outside agencies including USDA, OSHA, IATA and DOT.

Responsibilities and Key Duties:

Essential Functions

        Manage warehouse processes for biological products and develop, update and maintain procedures for the department.

        Directly supervise various levels of team members by setting the tone for the team environment and providing individualized coaching, training and mentoring.

        Participate in recruiting activities, interview, hire, train and evaluate performance for the team including performance reviews.

        Ensure meeting deadlines, commitments, deliveries and/or support of manufacturing areas and manage and improve flow of material.

        Monitor and audit for compliance with established procedures and monitor workload in areas to ensure incoming and outgoing materials are processed in a timely manner.

        Manage departmental goals and metrics.

        Develop and implement process improvements to increase accuracy and improve productivity.

        Ensure safety is followed with department and company goals.

        Develop and improve interface between the warehouse and distribution teams and other departmental functions.

        Execution and analysis of inventory counts.

        Monitor inventory levels of departmental supplies and placement of orders.

        All other duties as assigned.

Receiving and Replenishment

        Manage inbound receiving processes for raw materials including the coordination of Quality Assurance inspection process.

        Manage flow of materials from receiving into the primary storage locations.

        Manage flow of materials from receiving to manufacturing areas to support manufacturing of finished goods.

Labeling & Packaging

        Manage and organize the workflow of labeling and packaging of semi-finished products based on the demand from customers.

        Manage the issuance of materials within proper operating systems and USDA compliance records.

        Ensure Quality Assurance is maintained throughout entire process.

        Maintain equipment by enforcing operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, and scheduling of preventative maintenance and repairs.

Distribution

        Coordinate the sales order fulfillment activities by working with order management teams.

        Manage finished goods order fulfillment processes to ensure we are meeting inventory accuracy performance indicators and provide a balance flow of work throughout distribution.

        Manage shipping processes to maximum productivity and accuracy to meet customer expectations.

        Manage order fulfillment processes to ensure proper implementation and support of commitments to achieve customer satisfaction and minimize non-compliance issues for our customers.

Training & Compliance

        Comply with all applicable SOPs within warehouse & distribution operations as well as other applicable SOPs related to department functions

        Comply with USDA regulations

        Comply with company policies

        Comply with safety regulations

        Review and updating of departmental SOPs

        Ensure training records are maintained

Qualifications:

Education - Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, Operations, Material Management, Warehouse Management or closely related field required.

Work Experience - 6+ years of Warehousing & Distribution experience in a manufacturing environment required, including 4+ years of leadership experience.

Other - IATA certified recommended, Cold Chain packing and shipping solutions, Lean Manufacturing, Good Warehousing and Distribution Practices

Physical Requirements:

        Holds a valid driver's license

        Handle up to 60 lbs

        Obtain power industrial truck license

Working Conditions:

        Special working conditions within cooler storage of 2-7C

        Special working conditions within freezer storage of -20C

        Special working conditions with LN2 freezer storage of -160
