Our franchise owners specialize in custom blinds, shades, shutters, drapery, and motorized window treatment solutions, delivering professional design consultations and installation services directly to homeowners in their local communities.
As our franchise network continues to grow, our Home Office team provides the marketing, website, technology, and operational support our owners need to succeed. We manage a large portfolio of local franchise websites and digital marketing systems designed to help each location grow in its market.
Made in the Shade is hiring a full-time, in-office WordPress & Local SEO Specialist to manage, maintain, and optimize 150+ local franchise websites built in WordPress. This role is based at our San Antonio Home Office and requires working on-site Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
This is not a remote, freelance, hybrid, or contract position. Applicants must be able to work in our San Antonio office Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
About the Role
Our websites are built using established WordPress templates and theme builders, primarily Kadence and Divi. This role is not focused on building custom websites from scratch every day. Instead, it requires someone who can manage websites at scale, improve local SEO performance, troubleshoot issues, update pages, optimize content structure, and help maintain a consistent, high-quality web presence across many local markets.
The ideal candidate is comfortable working inside WordPress, understands local SEO best practices, can troubleshoot technical website issues, and enjoys improving systems that support many locations at once.
Responsibilities
  • Build, update, and maintain WordPress websites using Kadence, Divi, and existing website templates
  • Manage and optimize a portfolio of 150+ local franchise websites
  • Implement Local SEO strategies for individual markets and location-based websites
  • Optimize website pages for local search visibility, including page titles, meta descriptions, headings, internal links, image optimization, and location-based content
  • Improve website performance, page speed, mobile usability, and Core Web Vitals
  • Maintain website structure and content consistency across multiple franchise locations
  • Implement and maintain schema markup and other technical SEO best practices
  • Monitor website health, plugin updates, theme updates, security items, broken links, redirects, and technical issues
  • Troubleshoot WordPress issues and provide technical support to the marketing team as needed
  • Collaborate with marketing and leadership on website improvements, SEO initiatives, landing pages, and digital growth projects
  • Recommend improvements to help franchise locations improve local visibility and lead generation
  • Use SEO tools, analytics, and reporting data to identify opportunities and track performance
Qualifications
  • 35 years of professional WordPress experience
  • Strong working knowledge of Local SEO and on-page SEO
  • Experience using WordPress theme builders such as Kadence, Divi, Elementor, or similar tools
  • Understanding of technical SEO, schema markup, redirects, site structure, page speed, and mobile optimization
  • Experience managing multiple websites, location pages, franchise websites, or multi-location SEO campaigns preferred
  • Comfortable working with plugins, updates, templates, forms, tracking scripts, and website troubleshooting
  • Basic understanding of HTML, CSS, and how to make front-end website updates inside WordPress
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize requests, and stay organized
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to explain website or SEO issues clearly
  • Must be able to work in-office in San Antonio, TX, Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Preferred Experience
  • Experience with franchise, multi-location, or service-area business websites
  • Experience with Google Business Profiles and local search ranking factors
  • Experience with GA4, Google Search Console, SEMrush, Ahrefs, or similar SEO tools
  • Experience with website speed optimization and Core Web Vitals
  • Experience with WordPress hosting platforms such as WP Engine
