Overview

The Associate Director, Program Management position is responsible for steering increasingly larger and more complex programs for a client, or portfolio of projects across multiple clients. They help direct the Program Management team to ensure that assignments are completed according to schedule and budget.  They actively identify organic growth opportunities, heavily involved in estimation and contract reviews to ensure accuracy of effort and commitment. They also consult with the leadership team on decisions and work together to persuasively align the project team to a greater goal.  

For this role, we are seeking program management professionals with experience leading web-based projects and working with an Agile methodology. Scrum Master certification is preferred.  This is a freelance opportunity.

Responsibilities
  • Effectively estimate engagements and perform a top-down and bottom-up analysis for web-based projects.
  • Develop project plans following Agile methodology.
  • Translate tasks and effort into Jira stories and sprint plans (in collaboration with the project team and client).
  • Operate as a Scrum master - lead scrum calls, manage the Jira board, facilitate sprint planning meetings.
  • Help project team unblock and communicate risks and issues as needed (to the client and internal team).
  • Set boundaries and expectations with the client around when work will be delivered based on client-directed priorities, LOE, team bandwidth and project plans.
  • Monitor burn and finance reports and manage staffing plans.
  • Drive and manage the approval and review process for MSA/SOW (high complexity).
  • Assist end-to-end scope change management process.
  • Assess the effectiveness of team dynamics/communications and diagnose/implement corrective actions where challenges may occur.
  • Deal with challenging situations/interactions and drive the collaboration process in large group sessions to get key Clients to make difficult decisions.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 7+ years experience managing medium-large size, complex, web-based projects in approx. $10M in revenue; agency experience preferred.
  • Firm understanding of Program Management foundation skills such as, timeline creation, planning, scoping, stakeholder communication, etc.
  • Program management experience that includes web-based and technical implementation projects and leading high performing project teams across Creative, UX, Technology, Product and Data. 
  • Experience with Agile methodology and JIRA. Scrum Master Certification preferred.
  • Clear communicator who is comfortable engaging directly with clients and presenting to senior leaders.
  • Experience leading status meetings with client and internal project teams.
  • Comfortable intaking requests with vague and limited details and converting requests into actionable plans.
  • Comfortable facilitating conversations with technical resources to extract key information to inform planning, dependencies, issues, etc.
  • Demonstrated experience navigating a large organization, showcasing the ability to influence with storytelling and data.
  • Effective leadership, analytical skills, negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
