Job description

Role Description:
The selected candidate will work with an experienced training team to develop and deliver certifiable training for adult learners. She/he will:
  • Collaborate with other ISDs/Training Developers to design and develop classroom and computer-based training/web-based training (CBT/WBT) learning solutions to prepare students to carry out their mission working with a software system.
  • Conduct competency-based platform training that incorporates multiple instructional technologies and maintain operational workstations in the classroom.
  • Consult with subject-matter experts to determine instructional requirements, analyze software systems, adapt engineering references, and implement training solutions.
  • Collaborate with technical writers and web managers to prepare and deliver a variety of training products.
  • Develop and manage Lesson Plans.
  • Develop and maintain Written Course of Instruction (WCI) products.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Plan, design, and deliver learning strategies based on a blended-learning strategy.
  • Instruct adult learners and manage up to 50 classroom workstations.
  • Evaluate instructional programs, course content, and instructional methodologies.
  • Analyze learning objectives against program requirements and coordinate data gathering and processing for various levels of evaluation and assessment.
  • Develop job aids for users, subject matter experts, and instructors who may be new to the targeted technology.
  • Maintain CBT modules and human-machine interfaces.
  • Develop and maintain WCI content and Lesson Plans.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • To be eligible for this position you must hold an active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph.
  • At least 8 years of relevant experience in Instructional Systems Design, Instructional Technology, Adult Learning, Curriculum Design, Human Systems Engineering, or related discipline.
  • At least 5+ years of experience in platform delivery design and development.
  • Must have experience developing training products for technology-based systems or have a solid propensity for technical subjects.
  • Must have in-depth experience managing training projects and teaching hands-on technology courses.
  • Must have experience with or in-depth familiarity with CBT/WBT and web development and management.
  • Must have experience working with technical staff.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Must have a high level of proficiency with MS Office products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Must have strong writing and editing skills.
  • Must have the ability to multi-task, self-assign work, and function in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Instructional Systems Design, Instructional Technology, Adult Learning, Curriculum Design, Human Systems Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Master's Degree in Instructional Systems Design, Instructional Technology, Adult Learning, Curriculum Design, Human Systems Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Experience developing job aids for users and/or instructors on technologies that are new to them is strongly preferred.
  • Experience developing technical publications such as requirements specifications, user manuals, technical manuals, training manuals, and other documents for end users.
  • Experience using graphics applications and scripting languages including Photoshop, HTML, and JavaScript.
  • System administration experience.
  • Familiarity with Army Training development processes.
Pay Rate:
In compliance with Maryland's Equal Pay for Equal Work law, the annual base salary range for this position is $150,000 - $200,000. This range represents the base pay for this role and is provided in accordance with Maryland's requirements to disclose compensation in job postings. Please note that actual compensation may vary based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the role, the candidate's qualifications, experience, education, skills, internal equity, and market conditions. In addition to base salary, candidates hired into this position may be eligible for a hiring bonus of $10,000.00, subject to applicable contingencies and Navstar policy.
