Freelance Virtual Nurse Jobs (NOW HIRING)

We're partnering with a school district in Lake County, Illinois to hire a dedicated Certified School Nurse (CSN) for the 2026-2027 school year. This is an on-site, full-time.
You'll provide school-based nursing services to support student health, safety, and access to learning--collaborating with educators and support teams to ensure students' medical needs are met throughout the school day. This includes supporting K-12 plus transition-age students (ages 18-22) with varying levels/types of support needs.
Position Details:

• Location: In person (On-site), Lake County, IL
• Hours: 8:00 AM-3:30 PM (30-minute unpaid lunch)
• Schedule: Full-time, Monday-Friday
• Weekly Hours: 35 hours/week
• Start Date: Anticipated 8/17/2026
• Pay Range: $42-$48 per hour
• Work Setting: On-site only (no virtual/remote candidates)

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct school nursing services and respond to student health needs during the school day
• Support and maintain student health plans and required health documentation
• Collaborate with special education and school teams to support student access and safety
• Deliver basic health education and reinforce wellness/safety practices as needed
• Communicate with families and staff regarding student health needs while maintaining confidentiality
• Support campus/district health procedures and compliance requirements as applicable

Qualifications:

• Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with CSN endorsement (Certified School Nurse)
• School-based experience preferred (K-12)
• Comfort supporting students with varying levels/types of support needs, including transition-age students (18-22)
• Strong collaboration, communication, and documentation skills
• Ability to work fully on-site (no virtual/remote)
