JOB DESCRIPTION
Fox Technical Operations is looking for a hard-working Freelance Utility Operator to join the team in NY. The Freelance Utility Operator will work in a dynamic and fluid production environment and be heavily involved in building facilities for programs, segments, and events in the studio, on location, and on Fox Square. The Freelance Utility Operator will move, lift, push, and position equipment, handle cables and other materials of various shapes, sizes, and weights, and maneuver tripods, pedestal cameras, and set pieces. The ability to lift 50 pounds is required. You must be capable of standing for extended periods, have the flexibility to work a variety of shifts, and be prepared to work in both indoor and outdoor settings.
A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Primarily work in a supporting role for Camera Operators by coiling cables and storing equipment
  • Train with camera operations on a variety of cameras including Pedestal, Robotics, Handheld, and Jib
  • Work through challenges and come up with solutions in pre-production and on the fly during a show

WHAT YOU WILL NEED
  • Bachelor's degree in media or related field of study preferred, or equivalent experience
  • Ability and willingness to take direction and learn the Fox method and procedures
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts including early mornings, extended shifts, and travel to remote production locations
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods while working on productions
