Job description

At BioBuzz, we’re building the next-generation talent marketplace for the life sciences — a platform where companies can instantly connect with the specialized consultants, freelancers, and fractional leaders they need to grow. What started as a grassroots community and media brand has evolved into a trusted hub with paying customers, national visibility, and a live product already generating revenue.

This isn’t just another job board — it’s a category-defining solution at the intersection of talent, hiring, innovation ecosystems and the $2 trillion bioeconomy. We’re not building in theory — we’re building in market, with momentum, traction, and a big vision ahead.

This is your chance to join an experienced founding team at a pivotal inflection point: the transition from scrappy startup-phased company to scalable growth company. You’ll have real ownership, a seat at the table, and the opportunity to shape a product that’s transforming how the life sciences industry works and grows.

BioBuzz was the 2024 MD New Venture Accelerator Pitch Competition co-winner and a 2025 Baltimore Crab Tank Finalist!  Watch our Crab Tank video to learn more from our CEO: https://vimeo.com/1000454750

What You’ll Do

  • Own the roadmap & stack — guide product strategy, architecture, and build-vs-buy decisions
  • Audit & improve — review our current codebase, set quality/scalability baselines, and implement improvements.
  • Ship & scale — roll up your sleeves to write code, integrate tools, and move the product forward.
  • Partner with founders — ensure our product is investor-ready and our technical strategy sound.
  • Build for today & tomorrow — hit critical early milestones while laying the foundation for long-term growth.

Why This Role Matters

We’ve validated the market, secured paying customers, and built a strong foundation of users under a recognized brand that is known throughout the industry. Now we need a hands-on technical product leader who can take true ownership of the product, balance strategy with execution to accelerate our growth as we raise our Seed round.

This role has a clear path to CTO or other leadership for the right candidate as we scale.

What We Offer

  • Equity + Leadership Track — Start with ~2.5% equity in a part-time trial phase, with a clear path to ~5%+ upon full-time conversion post-seed (standard founder terms).
  • Salary Post-Seed — Competitive startup-level comp ($100K–$120K to start, scaling with the company).
  • Impact — Join at the moment when your work directly defines the product, user experience, and trajectory of the business and deliver a product that helps companies to commercialize life-saving medicines and technologies.  Your work will impact millions.

Who You Are

  • Experienced in launching products and integrating software to deliver innovative solutions and standout UX.
  • Highly tech-savvy with a strong grasp of AI tools and hands-on examples of how you’ve used them to accelerate product outcomes.
  • Results-oriented “doer” with strong execution, detail-orientation, and a collaborative, empathetic team mindset.
  • Entrepreneurial energy: self-motivated, proactive, adaptable, and comfortable with ambiguity.
  • Exceptional communicator — clear in writing, speaking, and presenting.
  • Startup-tested and comfortable with the pace, flexibility, and problem-solving required to thrive.
