Primary Purpose:
Supports a 2-year EPA-funded environmental health project focused on sewer and septic system maintenance, environmental health and community resilience. Supports survey coordination, literature reviews, data management, and project administration. Additional activities may include GIS mapping, geocoding, ACS and Census data collection, basic statistical analysis, and preparation of reports and presentations. The project includes a homeowner survey examining maintenance practices, environmental impacts, health outcomes, communication strategies and barriers to maintenance.

Essential Job Functions:
1. Assists with coordination and implementation of homeowner surveys.
2. Conducts literature reviews and summarize scientific findings.
3. Assists with data entry, cleaning, and database management.
4. Supports acquisition, organization, and management of American Community Survey (ACS) and U.S. Census data.
5. Assists with GIS mapping and geocoding activities using ArcGIS Pro.
6. Creates tables, charts, maps, and summary reports.
7. Assists with basic statistical analyses using R, SPSS, SAS, Stata, or similar statistical software.
8. Supports preparation of reports, presentations, manuscripts and outreach materials.
9. Attends project meetings and maintain project documentation.
10. Performs other duties as assigned or required.
Job Requirements:
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: 1. Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
2. Experience with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel.
3. Experience with or willingness to learn ArcGIS Pro and statistical software.
4. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a research environment.
Required Certifications/Licensures:
Required Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent
Major (if required:
Required Experience: High school diploma or equivalent and five (5) years of related experience.

Associate's degree and three (3) years of related experience.
--OR--
Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Environmental Health, Epidemiology, Global Health, Geography, GIS, Environmental Science, Biostatistics, Data Science, or a related field and one (1) year of related experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Experience with survey research or data collection.
2. Experience conducting literature reviews.
3. Familiarity with ACS and Census data.
4. Experience using ArcGIS Pro for mapping or geocoding.
5. Experience using either R, SPSS, SAS, Stata, or Python.
6. Interest in environmental health, environmental justice, or community-based research.
