Job Summary

The Security Installation Technician plays a critical role in safeguarding client assets by turning security plans into functional, high-performing defense systems. This hands-on position requires navigating diverse physical environments, interpreting technical blueprints, and providing top-tier customer service by teaching clients how to manage their new equipment.

Core Responsibilities

  • System Installation: Mount and secure control panels, sensors, video cameras, door hardware, and sirens.
  • Cabling & Wiring: Drill entry points, run low-voltage wiring through walls or conduits, and neatly terminate connections.
  • System Programming: Configure software for IP cameras, network video recorders (NVRs), access control credentials, and biometric systems.
  • Testing & Inspection: Run diagnostic checks on circuits, backup batteries, and signal transmissions to confirm connection to the central monitoring center.
  • Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Diagnose system faults, repair loose electrical connections, and replace failing components.
  • Client Training: Walk customers through system operation, explain keypad programming, and share strategies to prevent false alarms.
  • Documentation: Maintain meticulous installation logs, record material costs, and file precise service tickets

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $35.00/hr.
