Condé Nast is seeking a strong editor with a deep understanding of health to work on advertiser-supported editorial condition and wellness stories across its portfolio of sites.
You will ideate, assign, and edit a high volume of accessible, genuinely helpful content, ensuring that all commercially driven content meets the same editorial standards as our brand's organic coverage. You will also perform editorial-adjacent administrative tasks and work on organic editorial content initiatives as needed.
The right candidate is extremely organized, detail-oriented, and a strong editor with a background in service-based health journalism, who can seamlessly adapt content to each publication's voice. The ideal candidate also has a thorough understanding of the health and wellness landscape, strong scientific literacy, a deep understanding of health reporting best practices, and feels comfortable working on deeply reported condition-based content as well as wellness stories spanning topics such as cooking, travel, and sports.
This position will report to the VP, Health Content Lead.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Pitch, assign and edit editorial and advertiser-supported wellness and condition-specific stories, while maintaining the highest standards of accuracy
  • Write content as needed
  • Stay current on emerging health trends, sports news, medical research, and wellness conversations to identify timely content opportunities
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Manage department administrative tasks such as invoicing and creating supplier contracts
  • Ensure all content adheres to editorial guidelines, medical accuracy standards and sponsored content requirements
  • Additional duties as required

Desired Skills & Qualifications:
The ideal candidate must have experience editing service-based health journalism and enthusiasm for creating wellness and condition content.
  • 6+ years of experience as a digital editor.
  • Robust background writing about complex, nuanced health and wellness topics.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to follow an ever-evolving content calendar.
  • Must be comfortable overseeing multiple stories at once, all at various stages of the writing process.
  • Experience working across multiple publications simultaneously, adapting pitches, writing, and editing to align with each brand's ethos
  • Experience working with freelance writers, copy editors, and fact checkers.
  • Basic knowledge of image sourcing through platforms such as Getty.
  • Experience building stories in a CMS.
  • Experience and familiarity with SEO best practices.
  • Self-directed work style, but very comfortable collaborating with others.
  • Experience working on sponsored or branded health content is a bonus.
  • Bachelor's degree in Journalism or a related field

The requested salary range for this position is from $85,000 - $100,000
