Job description

Banking & Financial Services (Regulatory & Compliance) Attorney - Birmingham, MIDirect Counsel is partnering with a nationally recognized AmLaw 200 law firm to identify an Attorney with 5-7 years of experience to join its Banking and Financial Services business unit, specifically in the firm's financial regulatory and compliance practice. Candidates must hold an active license in their home jurisdiction or must be eligible for admission.This is a unique opportunity to join industry experts in a growing and specialized practice. This attorney will assist two partners in:
  • Federal and state regulatory investigations and supervisions
  • Reviewing policies and procedures, compliance management system infrastructure and risk management systems
  • Analysis of various financial services statutes and regulations to support client regulatory expectations in the areas of payments, lending, debt collection, mortgage servicing for banks and non-banking institutions
  • Assistance in providing regulatory due diligence for M&A financial services transactions
The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
  • Analytical and critical thinking along with strong problem-solving skills
  • Direct interaction with clients and regulators
  • Strong subject matter expertise in financial services regulation, extensive legal research, proficiency in the work product
  • Detail-oriented and should possess a solid work ethic and good interpersonal skills
  • An interest in supporting and contributing to business development initiatives, including client alerts, industry presentations, conference participation, and relationship-building within the financial services sector

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Salary range: $200,000 โ€“ $220,000 annually (DOE).
