Are you ready to put your years of experience to work at Northrop Grumman? If so, our Defense Systems Sector is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer to join our growing team in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
You will become part of Northrop Grumman's Systems and Software Solutions (S&SS). S&SS provides sustainment support for the US Air Force B-1, KC-135, and numerous other Government platforms. Our team members complete engineering, reverse engineering, and logistics solution efforts to solve complex obsolescence problems and ensure warfighter supportability.
You will support the Lead Engineer in execution of various program activities, to include Test system design and evaluation, design and development of communication systems, flight controls, navigation, radar, avionics, power and/or electrical systems architecture, components, circuits, and products or aircraft maintenance. The position will research, develop, design, and test electrical components, perform equipment, systems, and design evaluations and provide general engineering support for defense or commercial systems.
Responsibilities:
  • Demonstrate proficiency in analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Develop requirements for new systems
  • Derive and allocate requirements from higher level specifications to sub-systems
  • Create requirements linkage between end-item specifications, test plans and test procedures
  • Establish milestones and monitor adherence to master plans and schedules

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
  • Must have at least one of the following:
    • A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Physics or other STEM field with a minimum of 5 years of engineering experience
    • A Master's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Physics or other STEM field with a minimum of 3 years of engineering experience
    • A PhD degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Physics or other STEM field with 1 year of engineering experience
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance
  • Ability to work on-site in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
  • Experience in creating and delivering technical presentations to internal and external leadership
  • Experience working collaboratively on complex projects that encompass hardware, software, and firmware
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a minimum of a U.S. Government Secret Clearance with additional customer specified clearance prior to start
  • U.S. Citizenship required

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with aerospace systems
  • Experience with RF systems
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience decomposing requirements for DoW-based platforms and systems
  • Active U.S. Government Secret security clearance

Primary Level Salary Range: $93,300.00 - $139,900.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
