Job description

We are seeking a Network Administrator for the IT Technology Services contract. This project will provide IT service desk, systems, network, and security operations support for Federal Prison Industries (UNICOR), supporting end users, Microsoft infrastructure, and mission-critical business systems in hybrid work environments. This position is remote/hybrid; candidates must be willing to work on-site at the Central UNICOR office in Washington, DC when required; work hours are from Monday to Friday, 8 hours per day. Travel to remote locations is required. This position is contingent upon contract award.

So, what will the Network Administrator at Terrestris do?

As the Network Administrator you will be a key person for the IT Technology Services contract. You will administer the FPI network resources and access at the direction of the Government Lead Network Administrator.

What does a typical day look like for a Network Administrator?

You will:

  • Install and configure computer networks, network devices, and supporting systems to meet operational requirements.
  • Administer network resources and user access in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Monitor computer networks and systems to identify performance trends, capacity issues, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Troubleshoot network and system issues to restore service and minimize operational disruptions.
  • Diagnose and resolve connectivity, hardware, software, and network infrastructure problems.
  • Assemble and deploy new systems, equipment, and network components to support business operations.
  • Maintain existing network hardware, software, and supporting infrastructure to ensure reliability and availability.
  • Upgrade obsolete hardware, software, and network components to improve performance and maintain compatibility.
  • Collaborate with IT support personnel to resolve incidents, implement changes, and support end users.
  • Provide network administration, technical support, and operational guidance to ensure secure and efficient network operations.

What qualifications do you look for?

You might be the professional we're looking for if you have:

  • Authorization to work in the United States permanently without sponsorship.
  • Ability to obtain Public Trust Clearance.
  • A minimum of (7) years of Networking experience.
  • Certifications: CompTIA Network+ certification can be used to substitute for 2 years of network experience. Cisco CCNA Certification can be used to substitute for 3 years of network experience.
