These specialists commonly provide services such as quality assurance of medical imaging equipment, radiation safety, and consultation for radiation therapy treatment planning. Freelance remote medical physicists collaborate with healthcare facilities on a contract basis, utilizing telecommunication tools and sometimes traveling on-site as needed. Their flexible, remote role allows them to serve multiple clients across various locations. This form of work is growing in popularity due to advancements in digital technology and increased demand for specialized expertise.
