Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Orthopaedics business to establish a standalone orthopaedics company, operating as DePuy Synthes. The process of the planned separation is anticipated to be completed within 18 to 24 months, subject to legal requirements, including consultation with works councils and other employee representative bodies, as may be required, regulatory approvals and other customary conditions and approvals. Should you accept this position, it is anticipated that, following conclusion of the transaction, you would be an employee of DePuy Synthes and your employment would be governed by DePuy Synthes employment processes, programs, policies, and benefit plans. In that case, details of any planned changes would be provided to you by DePuy Synthes at an appropriate time and subject to any necessary consultation processes.

We are searching for the best talent for DePuy Synthes R & D Engineer Co-OpOrthopedics to be in West Chester PA or Raynham, MA

Purpose:

  • The Co-op term is from January to June, 2027.
  • Full time requirement (40 hours per week).
  • 2 vacancies are currently available. One for West Chester, PA the other one for Raynham, MA.

Purpose:

The R&D Co-Op will support the development and commercialization of orthopedic sports medicine products. The role will provide hands-on experience with product design, prototyping, testing, and technical documentation while working closely with R&D and cross-functional team members.

Qualifications / Requirements:

  • We are seeking Junior and Senior students who have experience or knowledge in CAD software and are proficient in Microsoft Office applications , including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams, and Outlook. The ideal candidates are strong communicators, collaborative team
  • Completion of Undergraduate Freshman year at an accredited University is required.
  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomechanical Engineering, or Bioengineering , or related fields.
  • Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher, which is reflective of all college coursework.

Permanently authorized to work in the U.S., must not require sponsorship of an employment visa (e.g., H-1B or green card) at the time of application or in the future. Students currently on CPT, OPT, or STEM OPT usually requires future sponsorship for long term employment and do not meet the requirements for this program unless eligible for an alternative long-term status that does not require company sponsorship.

If you are under 18 years of age, you (the candidate) may need to obtain the necessary working papers or other documentation required by state law to start the assignment, as well as get a parent's consent for the background check.

Pay Transparency:

The expected pay range for this position is between $23.50 per hour and $52.50 but will be based on candidate's program year, discipline, degree and/or experience. Co-Ops/Interns are eligible to participate in Company sponsored employee medical benefits in accordance with the terms of the plan. Co-Ops and Interns are eligible for the following sick time benefits: up to 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington, up to 56 hours per calendar year. Co-Ops and Interns are eligible to participate in the Company's consolidated retirement plan (pension).
