Job description

Location: El Segundo, CA | Hybrid: 3 days onsite

Duration of project: 6 months+ (Contract – to – hire)

Overview:

Seeking a hands-on Network Engineer to support and expand a multi-site enterprise network. The role covers Cisco routing/switching, SD-WAN, wireless, Palo Alto security, Prisma Access/SASE, and hands-on site infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and troubleshoot Cisco Catalyst routing/switching, IOS-XE, LAN/WAN, VLANs, STP, BGP, OSPF/EIGRP.
  • Administer Cisco SD-WAN, including Manager, Validator, Controller, and edge devices.
  • Deploy and support Cisco Catalyst 9800-L wireless controllers and Wi-Fi 6E/7 APs, including site surveys and troubleshooting.
  • Configure and support Palo Alto PA-1410 NGFW, including security policies, NAT, VPN, WildFire, URL Filtering, Threat Prevention, and DNS Security.
  • Implement secure remote access using Prisma Access/SASE and VPN.
  • Support legacy Ubiquiti switching and multi-vendor environments.
  • Perform hands-on infrastructure work: AP installation, cable pulling/testing, equipment rack/stack, and new-site readiness.
  • Assist with light data center and Dell server support.
  • Handle P1/P2 incidents, escalations, migrations, upgrades, and after-hours cutovers.
  • Develop network standards, reference architectures, documentation, diagrams, SOPs, and runbooks.
  • Partner with security teams on FIPS, CMMC/NIST 800-171, vulnerability remediation, and hardened access.
  • Work with carriers, vendors, and technology partners.
  • Utilize network automation/scripting tools such as Python and Ansible.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of network engineering, operations, and security experience.
  • Strong hands-on Cisco enterprise routing/switching and IOS-XE expertise.
  • Experience with Cisco SD-WAN and enterprise wireless.
  • Strong Palo Alto NGFW experience.
  • Experience with Prisma Access/SASE and VPN.
  • Strong Layer 2/Layer 3 troubleshooting and multi-site network design experience.
  • Willingness to perform hands-on cabling, AP installation, rack/stack, and site support.
  • Experience with network automation.
  • Ability to work independently, participate in change windows, and respond to critical incidents.
  • Strong communication, documentation, and stakeholder-management skills.

 

Preferred:

  • CCNP/CCIE.
  • PCNSA/PCNSE.
  • FIPS, CMMC/NIST 800-171 experience.
  • Aerospace, defense, or regulated-industry experience.
  • Python/Ansible automation experience.
