Job description

Join a Highly Subspecialized Private Practice Radiology Group in Charlotte, NC
Charlotte Radiology is seeking fellowship-trained Body Imaging radiologists to join our highly subspecialized Body Imaging section. This partnership-track opportunity is ideal for physicians with an interest in oncologic imaging, advanced thoracic and abdominopelvic imaging, and collaboration with a highly engaged clinician referral base. Hybrid scheduling allows physicians to balance remote interpretation with onsite coverage and collaboration across assigned locations while remaining connected with colleagues, clinicians, and the broader care team. Procedure coverage is not required but is available for physicians interested in maintaining procedural skills.
Candidates will have the opportunity to practice alongside a collaborative team of subspecialty radiologists with access to advanced imaging, multidisciplinary conferences, and the resources of one of the largest private radiology groups in the Southeast. Start dates are available in 2027 and 2028.
Position Highlights:
  • Partnership-track opportunity with a two- or three-year pathway based on experience.
  • Partner compensation exceeds the 90th percentile for private practice radiology.
  • Hybrid position combining onsite and remote reading opportunities.
  • Highly subspecialized Body Imaging section with a focus on chest, abdominal, and pelvic imaging.
  • Opportunity to participate in oncologic imaging and multidisciplinary conferences through our valued partnership with Atrium Health and Levine Cancer Institute.
  • Collaborative clinician referral base with strong physician relationships.
  • Procedure coverage available for interested candidates; not required.
  • Reasonable travel expectations with coverage across either the Northern and Central divisions or Central and Southern divisions.
  • Comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, malpractice, 401(k), student loan repayment assistance, and generous paid parental/family leave.
  • Advanced IT infrastructure with single-vendor PACS, integrated chat and case-sharing capabilities, dedicated clerical support, and 24/7 IT assistance.
  • Strong physician collaboration with direct access to subspecialty expertise and a large, collegial radiology team.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Interpret chest, abdominal, and pelvic imaging studies.
  • Provide advanced body imaging interpretations, including oncologic imaging.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary conferences as part of our partnership with Atrium Health and Levine Cancer Institute.
  • Collaborate with referring physicians and subspecialty radiologists to provide high-quality patient care.

Position Requirements:
  • ABR certified or ABR eligible.
  • Fellowship training in Body Imaging or Cardiothoracic Imaging.
  • Strong commitment to high-quality patient care and teamwork.
  • Highly motivated physician with excellent interpersonal skills.

Practice Highlights:
Charlotte Radiology is comprised of more than 100 board-certified radiologists and more than 40 advanced practice providers, serving as the region's imaging experts since 1967. Over the past 50 years, we have grown into one of the largest and most progressive radiology groups in the nation and a founding partner of Lumexa Imaging (formerly US Radiology Specialists). Our physicians provide 24/7 coverage for 16 hospitals and support multiple outpatient and specialty imaging centers throughout the region, including breast centers, vascular and interventional clinics, and free-standing imaging centers. Our physician team is active in research, clinical trials, and education, with a strong commitment to innovation and clinical excellence.
  • One of the largest private radiology practices in the Southeast.
  • 98% of outpatients surveyed would recommend our centers and services.
  • More than 2.2 million studies interpreted annually.
  • Dedicated physician support teams, including in-house credentialing services.
  • Strong partnership with Atrium Health and continued growth within the Charlotte healthcare market.
