The Impact You Will Have in This Role

As a Lead BI Engineer, you will drive the design and delivery of enterprise analytics and reporting solutions that empower business and technology teams to make data-driven decisions. Leveraging Power BI, SQL, Snowflake, and modern data technologies, you will transform complex data into actionable insights, lead high-impact analytics initiatives, build scalable data models, and influence reporting strategy across the organization. You will partner with cross-functional stakeholders, provide technical leadership, mentor team members, and play a key role in advancing DTCC's data modernization journey.

Your Primary Responsibilities:

  • Own the design, development, and optimization of enterprise Power BI dashboards, reports, and analytics solutions. 
  • Partner with business, product, and technology stakeholders to translate complex requirements into actionable insights. 
  • Develop scalable data models, DAX measures, Power Query transformations, and SQL-driven reporting solutions. 
  • Lead BI initiatives through the full development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to deployment and ongoing enhancements. 
  • Optimize Power BI performance, troubleshoot issues, and improve report usability, scalability, and reliability. 
  • Collaborate with offshore teams to deliver high-quality solutions on time. 
  • Mentor junior team members and champion BI development standards, best practices, and reusable design patterns. 
  • Support modernization initiatives while enhancing and maintaining existing reporting platforms. 
  • Align risk and control practices with day-to-day responsibilities to appropriately monitor and mitigate risk.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent practical experience
  • 6-8 years of Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, Reporting, or related technology roles.

Talent Needed for Success

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Power Platform, with deep expertise in Power BI. 
  • Advanced knowledge of DAX, Power Query (M), and Power BI data modeling. 
  • Strong data modeling fundamentals, including star schema design, relationships, and performance optimization. 
  • Strong SQL skills with the ability to write, analyze, troubleshoot, and explain complex queries. 
  • Experience with Snowflake or similar cloud data platforms. 
  • Experience managing Power BI deployments across Development, QA, and Production environments. 
  • Hands-on experience with Power BI performance tuning, including Performance Analyzer and report optimization techniques. 
  • Proven ability to lead projects, influence technical decisions, and mentor junior team members. 
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to engage effectively across business and technology teams. 
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, planning, and execution skills. 
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Preferred Skills 

  • Experience with Sigma Computing, Amazon QuickSight, or other BI and analytics platforms. 
  • Experience with AWS or cloud-based analytics environments. 
  • Experience supporting data modernization, transformation, or enterprise reporting initiatives. 
  • Experience with process mapping, business analysis, and process improvement. 
  • Experience working with enterprise data platforms and large-scale analytics environments. 
  • Financial services, capital markets, post-trade processing, clearing, or settlement experience.

  • PL-300: Microsoft Power BI Data Analyst Associate
  • PL-400: Microsoft Power Platform Developer Associate
  • PL-600: Microsoft Power Platform Solution Architect
