Job description

SUMMARY

The Electrical Test Engineer II conceptualizes, designs, develops, tests, and supports the manufacturing and testing of electronics for space and defense products and systems. This position collaborates with cross functional engineering teams on the integration of electromechanical systems.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Evaluate program requirements to determine the appropriate test methods and equipment.
  • Assists in reviewing test system architecture and the implementation of software and hardware design.
  • Determine hardware selection criteria for test setup needs.
  • Develop custom software libraries and drivers to support required test equipment operations.
  • Supports test activities throughout the product lifecycle which may include development (DVT), qualification, and production (ATP / LAT).
  • Draft test procedures, perform data review, and produce test reports.
  • Design schematics and PCBs for both test fixturing and deliverable electronics.
  • Draft and review electrical engineering drawings such as schematics, PCBs, CCAs, Cable Harnesses, and Bill of Materials.


WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or similar.
  • Typically possesses 2 to 5 years of aerospace, defense, and/or avionics experience.
  • Experience with schematic capture and PCB layout. Experience with Altium is a plus.
  • Skilled in surface mount and through-hole soldering on PCBs. Familiarity with IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001 is a plus.
  • Competence in harness design and assembly. Familiarity with IPC/WHMA-A-620 is a plus.
  • Proficient in using electrical test equipment including oscilloscope, DMM, power supply, spectrum analyzer, and network analyzer.
  • Competence in designing and developing test hardware and software for product specific testing needs.
  • Fluency with LabVIEW, C/C++/C#. Familiarity with TestStand, Python, and Matlab are a plus.
  • Proficient in circuit simulation tools such as PSPICE and LTSPICE.
  • Familiarity with MIL-STD-461 is a plus.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
