Description
Reporting directly to the Associate Dean of Instruction, CTE Programs, this position works in the assigned program under the supervision of full-time faculty and is responsible for improving student learning by following curriculum and course materials, providing hands-on training and assisting with demonstrations.
This temporary, part-time position is assigned an hourly schedule semester by semester, based on program needs and course schedules. The position does not work between semesters.
This position may be asked to work non-traditional hours including nights and weekends.
Typical Duties
  1. May instruct scheduled courses as an adjunct faculty, as assigned.
  2. Prepare and give classroom presentations, trainings, and student assignments under direction of the full-time faculty.
  3. Assist students in meeting learning objectives by accurately and impartially assessing students' abilities in performing assigned skills and correcting deficiencies.
  4. Adhere to class schedules. Meet attendance standards and work additional hours, as needed.
  5. Remain current in practices, trends and research related to areas of specialization or assignment.
  6. Maintain confidentiality relating to student matters.
  7. Maintain availability for student interaction.
  8. Carry out assigned responsibilities in accordance with all applicable federal, state, and local statutes and the college's philosophies, policies, procedures and regulations.

Qualifications
Applicants must meet education and/or experience minimum qualifications as indicated: Faculty Qualifications.

The program will not permit submission until all required documents have been attached. This position only requires the attachment of transcripts/credentials. Unless there is a specific and urgent need, Mohave Community College will NOT contact applicants when insufficient documentation is provided.
Evaluation of qualifications to are based on the information in your application and your attached documents. Qualified applicants will remain active for 12 months. Applicants not offered an assignment within the initial 12-month period will be removed consideration, without exception, and will need to submit a completely new application, including transcripts/credentials, to be re-considered.

I satisfy the qualifications for this position by meeting the following threshold standard:
  • Master's Degree in the teaching field
  • Master's Degree in any teaching field with 18 graduate semester hours in the teaching field
  • Bachelor's Degree in the field plus three (3) years recent, relevant occupational experience
  • Associate's Degree in the teaching field
  • Five (5) years or more recent, relevant, documentable work experience in the field
  • Specialized certificate in the field to be taught
