Job description


We are seeking a Storage Administrator II with the focus of Dell/HP/NetApp Storage Administration. In this role, the systems administrator will work on a team supporting program initiatives in secure, isolated computing environments. The systems administrator will be expected to team with peers, internal customers, and management to strengthen the consistency and standardization of IT infrastructure services to achieve operational excellence and program success. While this position is an individual contributor role, collaboration and strong technical knowledge and skills will be essential attributes.
The Operations Strategic Capabilities Unit plays a fundamental role in enabling efficient business and program execution - from strategic capital investments, industrial operations and an efficient supply chain, to state-of-the-art manufacturing and test operations and top-notch facilities management.
What You'll Do:
  • Interface with internal customers, security, and management teams for: maintaining production systems, resolving issues with services and physical systems.
  • Install, maintain, and support multiple types of attached storage arrays such as Dell Isilon, Dell Compellent, HP Nimble, Dell Power Store and NetApp Appliances.
  • Help support VDI environments and engineering focused teams.
  • Execute troubleshooting skills to address stability of storage objectives both reactively and proactively via security updates and hardware firmware.
  • Maintain a secure storage environment, including adherence to backup schedules, patching, virus updates, and regularly scheduled backups via tape or array snapshots.
  • Be able to cable and configure multiple types of storage arrays in a data center setting.
  • Perform maintenance inside the scheduled maintenance window which occasionally requires after business hours support.
  • Be on-call on a rotating schedule, respond to after hours calls.
  • Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
  • Perform other duties as necessary.

On-Site Work Environment: This position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site five days each normally scheduled week in the primary work location. Travel and local commute between company campuses and other possible non-company locations may be required.
Working Conditions:
  • Work is performed in an office environment, laboratory, cleanroom, or production floor.

Required Skills and Education
  • Related Bachelor's and 2 or more years of related experience; or HS Diploma and 6 or more years of related experience.
  • Each higher-level degree, i.e., Associate's, Bachelor's Degree, Master's Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for additional years of experience.
  • Related certifications may count towards years of related experience.
  • Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.
  • A current, active TS/SCI security clearance with ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI Polygraph.
  • Excellent documentation skills, organization skills, and the ability to interact with team members cross-functionally.
  • Excellent organization and project management/project coordination skills.
  • Experience in monitoring, planning, configuring and maintaining NetApp/Dell/HP storage capacity and backups.
  • Knowledge with intel-based server class and workstation hardware.
  • Knowledge with VMware virtualization and lun management.
  • Experience with a Tape Library using Veeam/Networker or preferably CommVault.
  • Experience in installing, maintain, and supporting a multi-vendor enterprise storage environment.
  • Experience in Fibre Channel SAN zoning and LUN provisioning.
  • Experience with monitoring storage performance and capacity.
  • Experience with storage migrations, upgrades, and technology refresh projects.
  • Experience with enterprise backup solutions and tape library infrastructure.
  • Experience in performing restores (file-level, VM-level, database-level).
