Job Description

Title/ Designation - Enterprise Storage Administrator

Location - Sacramento, CA

Duration of Contract - 3+ Months


Technical Requirements

1. Experienced in VMAX and VPLEX architectures, storage provisioning, and decommissioning processes.

2. Experienced in FC zoning in Brocade DCX switches.

3. Experienced in NetApp OnTap 7 and 8 architectures, storage provisioning, and decommissioning processes.

4. Knowledge of Data Protection architectures, tools, and solutions.

Desirable Qualifications

1. Knowledge of Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS) administration such as Oracle, MS SQL Server and DB2.

2. Knowledge of SAP Basis Administration.

3. Scripting proficiency (C, Korn, BASH, Python, Ruby, Powershell)

Scope of Work

Task 1: VPLEX Migration:

A. Migrate hosts from VMAX-20k to VPLEX.

B. Migrate data inside VPLEX to redistribute back-end port utilization.

C. Assist in the storage and data protection planning and preparation for moving the primary data center services to a colocation facility.

D. VMAX-20k storage decommission after migration if required.

Task 2: ViPR SRM

A. Install client agents on AIX hosts connected to the EMC storage arrays.

Vendor: NetApp

Task 3: Infrastructure Management

A. SnapDrive and Snap Manager upgrade.

B. VMware VSC upgrade.

C. Assist in NetApp cluster mode upgrade.

Task 4: Data Protection

A. Assist in a data and service (NAS and Block) migration from 7-mode to Cluster mode involving multiple sites.

Qualifications

Mandatory Requirements

1. Minimum of 5 years' experience with the design, configuration and maintenance of EMC hardware.

2. Minimum of 5 years' experience with the design, configuration and maintenance of NetApp hardware.
