How much do freelance model jobs pay per hour?
What is a freelance model?
A freelance model finds representation through non-exclusive modeling agencies or seeks out their own opportunities and casting calls. They also utilize their connections in the industry, such as friends or acquaintances who are stylists, photographers, or makeup artists, and may find work through social media networking. Freelance models have many of the same job duties as models who are signed exclusively to a talent agency, lending their looks to various photo shoots and advertisements. However, freelance models must continually market themselves to secure jobs, so having excellent interpersonal skills is especially crucial for a freelance career.
What are some common challenges freelance models face when managing their own schedules and clients?
What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a freelance model, and why are they important?
What is the difference between Freelance Model vs Agency Model?
| Aspect | Freelance Model | Agency Model |
|---|---|---|
| Credentials | Portfolio, basic modeling experience | Portfolio, agency contract, sometimes professional training |
| Work Environment | Self-managed, independent shoots, direct client contact | Agency-represented, assigned to clients through agency |
| Employer & Industry Usage | Individual clients, brands, photographers | Modeling agencies, fashion brands, event organizers |
| Search & Comparison Intent | Looking for independent work opportunities | Seeking agency representation or agency-led jobs |
The main difference between a Freelance Model and an Agency Model lies in their work management and representation. Freelance Models operate independently, managing their own bookings and client relationships, while Agency Models are represented by agencies that handle their assignments. Both require a portfolio and modeling experience, but agency models often benefit from professional training and agency support. Your choice depends on whether you prefer independent work or agency representation for your modeling career.

We're looking for a Creative Manager, D&D Universes Beyond who loves tabletop games and helping teams do their best work. This role is ideal for an organized, production-savvy people manager who can create clarity in ambiguity, and keep product work focused, healthy, and on track.
This is a hybrid role requiring three days a week in our Renton, WA office.
WHAT YOU'LL DO- Lead and manage creative teams, supporting performance, career growth, workload health, and team culture.

- Partner with cross-functional teams within the studio to turn product goals into clear vision, deliverables, and decisions.
- Keep teams aligned by running stand-ups, tracking risks, documenting decisions, supporting feedback loops, and clarifying next steps.

- Experience leading complex, cross-functional creative projects with shifting priorities, external contributors, and multiple stakeholders.
- Strong operational instincts, including improving processes, creating documentation, coordinating reviews, and building repeatable workflows.
- Experience with freelancers, vendors, budgets, schedules, playtesting coordination, creative pipelines, and external partner relationships.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to turn ambiguous creative goals into scoped plans, trade-off recommendations, and clear next steps.
- Experience with licensed products, entertainment franchises, external creative collaborators, or brand extensions.
- Familiarity with tabletop roleplaying games, fantasy storytelling, Dungeons & Dragons, or D&D Beyond.
- Fluency in tabletop game development workflows, including project planning, feedback tracking, approvals, editing collaboration, and digital implementation support.
