Academic Coordinator
Reports To: Director of Learning & Teaching
Location: Tempe, AZ
Employment Classification: Full-Time
Salary Range: $62,000-$65,000 annually, based on experience

Position Summary
The K-8 Math and/or Science Coordinator is a key instructional leader on the Academics Team, reporting to the Director of Learning & Teaching. This role focuses on improving academic outcomes across all grade levels and content areas, with an emphasis on mathematics and/or science. The Coordinator supports curriculum development, assessments, and professional development aligned to multiple state academic standards and statewide assessments.
By partnering with campus and network leaders, the Coordinator ensures instructional alignment, coaching support, and data-driven decision-making that drive network-wide academic growth.

Key Responsibilities
Curriculum & Instruction
  • Develop and revise curriculum supports, including unit plans, lessons, assessments, and pacing guides.
  • Ensure alignment to State Academic Standards.

Professional Development & Coaching
  • Design and facilitate training sessions for teachers and leaders using the AMS coaching model.
  • Provide instructional coaching through modeling, co-planning, and feedback cycles.
  • Lead Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) and workshops to build capacity and vertical alignment.
  • Use data from multiple platforms and tools to refine support strategies.

Leadership & Collaboration
  • Collaborate with school and network teams to promote high-quality instruction.
  • Participate in instructional rounds and analyze trends to inform next steps.
  • Work closely with Special Education and English Learner (ELL) teams to support diverse learners.
  • Monitor the impact of instructional initiatives and support continuous improvement.
  • Maintain a strategic calendar aligned to academic priorities and school needs.

Required Qualifications
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Master's degree or content-related certification preferred.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of successful teaching experience.
  • Strong background in instructional coherence.
  • Familiarity with state academic standards.
  • Experience designing curricular resources, analyzing data, and coaching teachers.
  • Skilled in adult learning, professional development facilitation, and instructional leadership.
  • Ability to travel within and outside of Arizona.
