Job description

ASC is looking for a highly accountable, established Sales individual to fill our Outside Sales opening for a Hanger Specialist -covering the Midwest Region. Primary efforts are directed toward established Contractors and Engineers while partnering with Rep Agencies and Distributors to gain market share within the industry. As a Hanger Specialist, you will be responsible for analyzing, interpreting, and assisting in the overall incremental product placement to achieve sales targets. 
  • Hanger Design: Aid engineers and contractors in the design of pipe hangers, supports, and guides according to engineering specifications and project requirements while utilizing our current vast product offering. 
  • Fabrication: Work closely with our Henderson plant to ensure that piping supports are manufactured in accordance with project specifications and lead times are met to ensure customer satisfaction. 
  • Installation: Be available to the end user and our distributor partners to answer questions about installation of our product lines. Also work with our R&D group to resolve any engineering issues as they pertain to our line. 
  • Material Selection: Aid in the selection of hangers and supports based on load requirements, environmental conditions, and project specifications. 
  • Troubleshooting: Identify issues related to pipe supports to implement solutions that resolve hanger concerns. 
  • Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, distributor partners and our manufacturing team members to ensure incremental product placement and achieve sales targets.  

  • Education: College diploma with mathematical background. 
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in an engineering or construction environment working with pipe hangers, supports, or similar structural components.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in the utilization of pipe hanger supports for both suspended and on grade. 
      • Knowledge of pipe hanger design principles including how structural components and pipe content dictate pipe supports identification and functionality. 
    • Familiarity with industry standards, and codes including mechanical seismic requirements for both mechanical and plumbing trades within your specific region.  
    • Have an understanding of current market conditions as they pertain to competition, engineering, and utilization of the hanger line in given specific region. 
    • Ability to read drawings and specs as they pertain to pipe supports. Comprehension of how forces act on a pipe to ensure stability of the entire support assembly. 
  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams. Be able to present to various groups including: engineers, contractors, and distributors our vast line of products and product capability. 
  • Problem Solving: Ability to troubleshoot and address issues related to pipe supports and systems.
  • Time Management: 60% Contractor / 20% Engineer / 10% Distributor / 10% Administrative. 
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift, carry, and maneuver heavy materials and components (up to 20 lbs) as required
  • Software Proficiency: Familiarity with Microsoft suite of products for proper representation of our piping support line. Also, learn about and promote to the end user our Virtual Design and Construction ( VDC) tools and their relevance in selling at ASC-ES. 
  • Knowledge of Piping Systems: Understanding of various piping materials, system configurations, and installation practices.  


The base salary range for this position is $85,000.00 - $110,000.00 USD annually*.
