Social Media Coordinator

Perelel

Santa Monica, CA • On-site, Remote

Full-time

Medical, Dental, Vision, PTO

Job description

Why Perelel
  • You'll be joining at a pivotal moment in the brand's evolution. The work you do will directly shape how Perelel shows up as it grows from a prenatal authority to a women's health leader.
  • You'll have real ownership and visibility. You'll be creating, building systems, and managing external relationships with direct impact on the brand's organic growth.
  • You'll work alongside a Director who is building this function and wants a partner in that build, not just an executor.
  • The brand is OB/GYN-founded with genuine clinical credibility, which means the content has substance behind it. You won't be making things up for engagement.

The Role
We're looking for a Social Media Coordinator to join our growing social team and help scale Perelel's organic presence across Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, and YouTube. This role lives at the intersection of content creation and creator operations. You'll be making content yourself and managing a network of external creators who show up on our organic feeds with topical, trend-forward content.
You'll report directly to the Director of Social Media and work closely with our in-house Creative team, agency partners, and freelance designers. This is a hands-on, execution-heavy role with real ownership from day one.
What You'll Do
Content Creation (~50%)
  • Produce social-first content across Instagram and TikTok (Reels, carousels, Stories, and TikTok-native formats) that eels platform-native, not repurposed.
  • Shoot and edit short-form video content on iPhone, including on-camera content, product demos, lifestyle footage, and behind-the-scenes moments.
  • Be comfortable and confident on camera. This role includes appearing in content as a relatable voice for the brand alongside the broader social team.
  • Develop and contribute to recurring content series and evergreen formats that build audience habit and expectation.
  • Concept and pitch new content ideas regularly, not just execute on what's handed to you.
  • Adapt brand campaigns for social with a creator-native sensibility, translating polished brand assets into thumb-stopping feed content.
  • Stay ahead of platform trends, audio trends, and cultural moments relevant to our audience (millennial and Gen-Z women, 24-35+) and bring ideas proactively.

Creator & UGC Operations (~20%)
  • Source, vet, and onboard creators for Perelel's organic creator network, identifying women who authentically align with the brand across pregnancy, motherhood, women's health, perimenopause and general wellness.
  • Write and manage creative briefs that give creators enough direction to stay on-brand without killing authenticity.
  • Own the end-to-end creator workflow: outreach, contracting, briefing, content review, feedback, asset collection, and performance tracking.
  • Build and maintain a creator database organized by niche, audience, lifecycle stage, content style, and past performance.
  • QC all incoming creator content against brand guidelines, compliance requirements, and platform best practices before it goes live.
  • Manage creator relationships with warmth and professionalism. These are long-term partnerships, not one-off transactions.
  • Track creator content performance and surface insights on what's working, who's delivering, and where to double down.
  • Community & Operations (~30%)
  • Support day-to-day community management across platforms, responding to comments and DMs in the brand voice with speed and care in partnership with our CX team.
  • Assist with content calendar management, scheduling, and publishing.
  • Pull and organize performance data to support weekly and monthly reporting.
  • Coordinate with the in-house Creative team and freelance designer on asset delivery timelines.
  • Support campaign launches, product drops, and brand activations with real-time social coverage.

What You'll Work With
  • Tools: Social scheduling and analytics platforms (e.g., NectarSocial), AirTable, Canva and/or Figma for light asset creation, Asana, Google Workspace for briefs and tracking, iPhone for content capture.
  • Team: Director of Social Media (your direct manager), agency partners, freelance designer, and the creator network you'll help build.
  • Cadence: This role operates on a weekly content rhythm with campaign surges around product launches and cultural moments. Expect a mix of planned content and reactive opportunities.

Requirements
Who You Are
  • 1-2 years of experience in social media and content creation, ideally in DTC, wellness, beauty, or women's health.
  • You are a content creator first. Your portfolio includes Reels, TikToks, and carousels you've personally shot, edited, and published. This is the core of the role.
  • You're comfortable and natural on camera.
  • You have experience sourcing and managing creators or UGC contributors. You know what a good brief looks like and why most brand briefs fail.
  • You're organized and operationally sharp.
  • You can move fast without sacrificing quality. Startup pace means same-day turnarounds happen, and you're comfortable with that.
  • You're a clear, concise communicator, with creators, with internal teams, and in the content itself.
  • You have taste. You know the difference between content that looks like a brand ad and content that feels like it belongs in someone's feed. You lean toward the latter.
  • [Bonus] Familiarity with the supplement, prenatal, or women's health space. Not required, but you'll ramp faster if you already understand the audience.

Benefits
What We Offer
  • Competitive salary package
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance
  • Generous PTO and company holidays
  • Perelel product discount
  • Opportunity to shape the people function at a mission-driven company improving women's health
