Job description

Design Engineer

The Design Engineer is responsible for the execution of all facets ofdesign engineering projects in support of Magnetic Seal throughout the productlifecycle.  From concept design throughproduction, the Design Engineer works collaboratively with all businessfunctions to ensure a successful product launch to meet our customer'sdemanding sealing needs. 
This key project owner will manage all daily tasks within theengineering services through the assigned Engineering, ManufacturingEngineering and technical support resources, which range from customer productinquiries, which initiate the product development process to any existinglegacy application issues from our installed customer base.  This role will also personally own and manageassigned key initiatives within the business operations by supporting various functionswith product material inquires, manufacturing challenges, quality processes,and evolving supply chain developments.
This will be onsite role at our Warren, Rhode Island facility.

Our Facility in Warren, RI is responsible forengineering and manufacturing some of the world's most advanced sealingsolutions. 

Essential Functions:

- Responsible for the design, development, implementation and analysis of mechanical rotary face seals primarily used in the secondary power systems for the aerospace industry and other adjacent markets.
- Responsible for 3D modeling, drawing creation, reverse engineering, FEA Simulation Analysis, and component selection.
- Develops and executes test plans as required, including test rig design, operation and data collection as necessary.
- Evaluates our products, parts, procedures and processes for effectivity and reliability.
- Researches and analyzes customer design proposals, specifications, manuals, and other data to evaluate the feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements of designs or applications.
- Perform field evaluations and reports of returned products to assess performance and identify issues.
- Interacts with other departments, customers and suppliers as required
- Review and verify customer contracts to ensure accuracy, completeness, and alignment with contractual terms and internal requirements.
- Provides engineering, manufacturing and project management support.
- Recommend & implement process and product changes in support of internal & external customer(s)
- Prepares data-driven engineering reports for internal and external customers as needed.
- Candidate follows in house engineering processes and will assist in the creation and improvement of companywide process documentation.
- Attend industry trade shows and events to network, gather market insights, and identify opportunities for product development and business growth.
- Responsible for storing and handling all Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) appropriately to prevent unauthorized access, dissemination, or use of this information or documentation.
- Support all visitor and security policies to protect ITAR/EAR/CMMC/CUI information, documents, product, etc. from unauthorized access by informing management immediately of any concerns.
- Responsible for the proper handling and management of hazardous waste generated in employee's work area.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Regular and acceptable attendance is an essential function of this job.
