What is a freelance Informatica professional?

A Freelance Informatica professional is an independent contractor who specializes in using Informatica software to design, develop, and maintain data integration solutions for clients. They often work on projects involving data warehousing, ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes, and data migration. Unlike full-time employees, freelance Informatica experts typically work on a project basis, providing flexible services to various organizations. Their responsibilities may include consulting, coding, troubleshooting, and optimizing data workflows. They need strong technical skills in Informatica tools and related databases, along with the ability to manage their own schedules.

What are some common challenges freelance Informatica professionals face when managing multiple client projects simultaneously?

Freelance Informatica professionals often juggle multiple projects and clients, which can make prioritization and time management challenging. Each client may have distinct data integration requirements, ETL processes, and deadlines, requiring adaptability and clear communication. Additionally, freelancers are responsible for troubleshooting technical issues independently and ensuring seamless project delivery without the direct support of an in-house team. Building strong client relationships and setting clear expectations can help manage these challenges effectively.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a freelance Informatica professional?

To succeed as a Freelance Informatica specialist, you need expertise in data integration, ETL processes, and strong knowledge of Informatica PowerCenter, often supported by a degree in computer science or information systems. Familiarity with Informatica suite tools, SQL, and experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure are typically required, along with relevant certifications like Informatica Certified Professional. Strong problem-solving, communication, and client management skills help you deliver effective solutions and build lasting relationships. These competencies are crucial for delivering quality projects, meeting client requirements, and maintaining a competitive edge in the data management field.

Job description

At AKQA (part of WPP), we believe in the imaginative application of art and science to create beautiful ideas, products and services. With an entrepreneurial and collaborative approach, we design adaptive digital services and applications that capture the imagination, delivering impressive returns for our clients.
Creatives at AKQA apply artistry and craftsmanship to strategic insight to create and bring to life beautiful ideas that move the world. Skilled storytellers and conceptors, they work in a multidisciplinary environment to develop labors of love that delight customers and deliver results for clients. Designers play essential roles in the strategy, conception, and design of beautiful ideas, products and services, bringing exceptional creative thought and craft output from brief to end user.
We are seeking an experienced Freelance Senior Designer to support a nationally recognized financial brand celebrated for its bold creative ambitions and culturally resonant work. In this role you will help concept and produce a digital campaign for a credit card launch, bringing big-brand thinking and a masterful aesthetic to work that will reach a wide audience. This is a brand and campaign role at heart. It calls for a designer who lives in the world of ideas and craft, who can take a smart concept and execute it beautifully across digital channels. This is not a product design role. This is a remote freelance role from August 17 through October 16, 2026.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS
  • Concept and design a digital campaign for a credit card launch, bringing big-brand sensibility and a distinctive aesthetic point of view from idea through final execution
  • Develop smart, memorable campaign concepts and translate them into beautifully crafted work across digital channels and touchpoints
  • Design and adapt campaign assets across a range of formats, sizes, and placements, holding a consistently high aesthetic bar across the system
  • Bring strong conceptual thinking and refined visual craft to every deliverable, ensuring each execution ladders up to a cohesive campaign idea
  • Execute production-level work when required, with the craft and attention to detail that ensures every asset is polished and delivery-ready
  • Collaborate closely with creative leads, strategists, copywriters, and other team members to ensure the work is aligned to brief and elevates the brand

QUALITIES AND CHARACTERISTICS
  • A compelling portfolio demonstrating big-brand campaign work with smart ideas and a masterful command of aesthetic and craft
  • A brand and campaign designer at heart, comfortable in digital but grounded in ideas, storytelling, and visual excellence rather than product or UX work
  • A senior creative sensibility; you bring concept and craft in equal measure and hold an exceptionally high bar for how the work looks and feels
  • Comfortable working across a full campaign system, from big-idea concepting through beautifully executed, production-ready assets
  • Strong instincts for how a campaign comes together across multiple digital formats, channels, and placements
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Collaborative, receptive to feedback, and motivated by delivering work that is as smart as it is beautiful

Location & Commitment
  • Remote (United States only); must be available during core business hours, U.S. Eastern Time
  • August 17, 2026 through October 16, 2026
  • 40 hours/week
  • Expected weekly compensation: $2,600 to $3,000

We believe great work happens when we're together, fostering creativity, collaboration, and connection. That's why we've adopted a hybrid approach including required in-office days. If you require accommodations or flexibility, please discuss this with the hiring team during the interview process.
AKQA is an equal opportunity employer and considers applicants for all positions without discrimination or regard to particular characteristics. We are committed to fostering a culture of respect in which everyone feels they belong and has the same opportunities to progress in their careers.
